Bush: Obama and Clinton's Withdrawal on Iraq War Fatal Error
« on: August 11, 2015, 07:18:23 AM »
I think most realize what a mistake Obama/Clinton made on the Iraq war. Problem for him on this subject is that it has become a very unpopular war for which his brother has taken a lot of heat.  By the polls, both Clinton and Bush are sinking right now.  People on both sides are tired of the Washington establishment.  I and hoping that they both continue to self destruct.

Jeb Bush: Obama and Clinton’s Iraq withdrawal ‘premature’ and a ‘fatal error’

President Obama's decision to withdraw U.S. military forces from Iraq was "premature" and a "fatal error," Jeb Bush will argue in a foreign policy speech on Tuesday.

The Republican presidential candidate is scheduled to address a crowd at the Ronald Reagan Library in Simi Valley, Calif. on Tuesday evening in remarks that will include new details on how Bush would combat the rise of the Islamic State terror group if he is elected president, according to aides.

The speech will also include fresh attacks on Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton, the former secretary of state and Democratic Party's presidential frontrunner.

"What we are facing in ISIS and its ideology is, to borrow a phrase, the focus of evil in the modern world," Bush will say, according to prepared remarks provided by his campaign late Monday. "And civilized nations everywhere, especially those with power, have a duty to oppose and defeat this enemy."..

...Bush stumbled to explain for several days in May whether he would have authorized the Iraq war based on intelligence that emerged after the conflict began. Ultimately, he said he would not have ordered U.S. troops into Iraq. But he remains a strong defender of the 2007 U.S. troop "surge" ordered by his brother, former president George W. Bush, because he believes it helped American forces ultimately restore order to the country...

I believe in the United States of America as a government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed, a democracy in a republic, a sovereign Nation of many sovereign States; a perfect union, one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice, and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes. I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it, to support its Constitution, to obey its laws, to respect its flag, and to defend it against all enemies.

The fatal error was going into Iraq in the first place. S.H. was not a threat to the US. However, once we were there the rules of engagement were so retarded that there was zero chance of bringing Democracy to these heavens. Don't shoot unless being shot at and allowing the enemy to use Mosques to fire on American soldier was a disaster . Had we blown up a couple of them and went after Iran for building deadly road side bombs, it might have been possible to win. There never was a winning strategy.
