those in need of help. It seems obvious that he was aware of the issue. I am not judging the op at all because I think he means well but I personally would not donate to this. I find this crime to be repellent and unfortunately have personal knowledge of children who have been victimized in this manner. The op feels differently and that is fine but I am not buying that he did not know about the conviction.

Steve likes them young too.

I think OS's post is intentionally obscure circumlocution. This sentence, "It took fan mail from some flounder," is a reference to a quip made by Bullwinkle in one of the bits in the "Rocky and Bullwinkle Show". In the context of the bit, the message is in a drifting bottle, and unintelligible. So my guess is that OS was saying that he doesn't want to divulge either the source or the content of the "fan mail".

I take, "I was waiting on what to do from others," to mean that his indulgence in dramatic symbols was actually, "running those actions up the flagpole to see if anyone saluted". Further, I take his return to mean that few if any saluted, and OS doesn't want to march alone.

I think I just typed part of the quote ("fanmail from flounder") and "Bullwinkle" into the search bar on You Tube.

One of the stations in Sacto played Rocky & Bullwinkle re-runs after school, so I sort of grew up watching the show.
