Hillary Clinton Losing Strength in New National Polling

There is actual speculation on the possibility of Biden being the DNC choice...

 :rotf:

all the Clintonistas are in denial.

28. I don't care if you support Sanders or Clinton, so long as you understand that TIME wants "Jeb!" on their cover in November of 2016.

Using them to buttress any argument for or against a candidate is a bit like putting your hand in the angry dog's mouth.

TIME is a right wing mag.

56. Didn't Bernie call himself a Socialist? Self avowed would be correct. I like Bernie a lot but I wish he hadn't said it. According to the definition he really isn't a socialist. I think it was a mistake. It would not be an asset in the GE.

"I wish Bernie would lie to the people like all the rest of the DEM candidates." [/DU]

4. Hillary haters must love the sexist little subsection at this tabloid trash site.

'SEE HILLARY CLINTON'S EVOLUTION IN 20 PHOTOS'

Would a respectable 'news' site do this with Jeb Bush?

6. The hype is no longer having much effect, people have begun to catch on, I don't get that "strong leader" stuff however. Hell, she doesn't even have the guts to take a position on TPP or the Keystone pipeline. It's only going to get worse for her. She doesn't wear well.

Oooo... Berniebots to the attack!

40. It's NOT about "hav(ing) the guts" ...   yeah... it is...

It's about smart campaigning.

Will you be honest enough to acknowledge that the same people DEMANDING that HRC speak to these issues are the same cohort that, also, say they don't believe a word of what she says on issues that she agrees with them on? I wonder why no one believes a word she says?

If, on the campaign trail, she says TPP and XL are pure evil ... (we both know) the cry for the next 15 months will be, "She lying or pandering or its a trick."

If, on the campaign trail, she supports TPP and/or XL ... (we both know) the cry for the next 15 months will be, "See? She is a lap dog of the oligarchs."

So, she takes the reasonable campaign road ... Re: TPP, "Here are my standards for a trade agreement. I will not support a trade agreement that does not meet that standard." Re: XL, "If it is on the table when I become President, I will deal with it then."

And, really ... the only people that give a care about these issues are those removed from concerns about gainful employment, a robust social safety net and dying in the streets.

The truth of the matter is no one trusts Hillary to be truthful on anything.

52. So if it is reasonable to stand on the fence about TPP and XL

And Mrs. Clinton is so "smart," why the hell isn't she standing on the fence on EVERYTHING?

27. "Despite her struggles in general election match-ups"

"Clinton’s position as a front-runner for the Democratic nomination remains solid with 55 percent of Democrats "

So it does not matter to her supporters if she loses to Jeb in the GE as long as she wins the nomination....hmmmm.

89. Except that far more than 55%

of Dems will support her in the general. Most Dems regard the contest between Hillary and Sanders as they seem to themselves. They conduct themselves like friendly rivals, not enemies.

DU is not typical of either the Democratic Party or the general.population. For some here the primaries are a blood feud, For most of us, I think , it's team practice for the real fight.

9. I think many American's wonder why she's even running.

She seems to have zero passion in her speeches and avoids answering questions on big issues like the Keystone pipeline. Evasiveness equates to non-trust with the voters. I would be concerned that she's already run out of steam if I was one of her supporters.

60. she represents the faction that's fully run the party since ~2002: they want to keep

the party minimally-responsive to the canaille so that the donor gravy train keeps rolling, and that means no supermajorities, no winning with a populist instead of losing with a drip, and blaming critics and Nader every time the sun sends the wrong type of neutrino

30. It's historically Republican TIME magazine....they don't want either Clinton or Sanders to win.

Good post. Sensible. So rare, these days!

And good advice at the finish:

Stop panicking and make sure every Dem voter in the Nation is registered and ready to go.

21. looks like Corporate Clinton's teflon coating is wearing thin

The people are tired of being ignored, tired of being lied to, and tired of corporate interests. Hillary is practically the definition of a Washington insider, and her corporate ties are massive and worrying. Its no wonder that her popularity is dropping.

Hillary Clinton: Corporate Whore.

32. She's being attacked from the left AND the right. No wonder it's impacting her numbers. It's funny

that Sanders supporters think she's the media's favorite candidate considering the kind of reporting that has been done about her, including the bogus NYT hit piece

All Hill has to do to win is come out as a lesbian.

39. The Bernie people think he is another Obama

In reality, he is a senator from a tiny state with no executive or foreign policy experience.

The socialist label will be harped upon over and over and over scaring small businesspeople and independents.

Bernie is a good man .. he should remain a senator.

The Communist purge of Russia after Stalin seized power will be nothing like the coming bloodbath on DU once the DNC announces the 'official' candidate.

73. come on you cheapass republicans cough up more billions for media campaigns..

fox has to rehire Palin!! she was only a million a year, bring the daughters in too! They hate Mrs. Clinton more than they hate a male, black president

You should have had Mrs. Clinton down to single digits by now! only 49% 'like' her ? and its been 8 years of anti Clinton crap flinging.

Billions of dollars spent to pay hoards of hirelings, thousands of tax free political republican charities and only 49%. Republicans should be ashamed.

Ask The Donald what to do? he's got the top poll rank, hes a wealthy businessman and hasn't spent a dime of koch or charity 'donations'.

Sarah still pisses them off.

Too bad it doesn't sound good to an 'old-line Dem' like Cwissy Matthews, right?

Hillary Clinton????? Isn't she the woman that was supposed to be screwing Bill Clinton but wasn't? She failed at a very simple, easy job and she wants to be president!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jeb is highly unlikely to win.  Walker, Cruz & Carson are my three personal favorites, but that can be kind of a fluid situation.

That's what I was thinking. DUmmies have a herd mentality. If their leaders in the MSM tell them Jeb will be the nominee, well they just believe it. It's the establishment pushing him. The base has no tolerance for that this time. Chamber of Commerce, RNC, etc. can throw all the money at him they want. We have some very electable conservative candidates. I think we're smart enough this year to realize it's enough if we agree 99% of the time (well except may the purists at FR and all they do is fight over who's pure enough).

We do have to shoulder some of the blame for Romney. We fell into the trap of throwing our conservative candidates under the bus. We bought into the spin the media and the establishment was feeding us. When all was said and done, we were left with Newt and Romney and Newt was out of money. We weren't paying enough attention and all Romney had to do was wait for us to eat our own while he sat on a pile of money. That's what pissed me off about everyone who decided to stay home because Romney was "pushed" on us. It couldn't happen if we stood our ground. I don't believe that will work this time.
