Cruz Calls McConnell A Liar
« on: July 24, 2015, 04:38:53 PM »
I don't know about you, but in watching this video it brought tears to my eyes.  It really brought front and center just how corrupt our government is.  Ted Cruz laid out to the American people what is really going on...smoke screens and blame games all the while lining the pockets of corporate and congressional greed.

I believe in the United States of America as a government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed, a democracy in a republic, a sovereign Nation of many sovereign States; a perfect union, one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice, and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes. I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it, to support its Constitution, to obey its laws, to respect its flag, and to defend it against all enemies.

That is a man of integrity. I would be more than willing to vote for him. He knows who he really works for.

It is about time someone calls a spade a spade. I like Cruz but it''s election time and these politicians say what the voters want to hear. It is sad that there are so many Rinos in Congress that Bonehead and McConnell that voted for these two birds to remain as majority leaders.

I hear what you are saying ... it's election time.  BUT ... take a moment to review his voting record, his record in Texas, his education and his character.  So far, I'd vote for him in a heartbeat.  Out of all the candidates running, you would be hard pressed to find anyone more Constitutionally conservative.  He just received $15,000,000 in PAC money. Go Ted!

No argument from me there. However, he will need hundreds of millions to stay competitive. In the last presidential election, Newt ran out of money in FL and Mitt clobbered him.

I don't think it was that Newt ran out of money; rather than his past haunted him.  Keep in mind that Rick Santorum had a fraction of Romney's money and was last man standing next to him.

Compared to any lib in office, ex officio, or running...Newt's indiscretions are child's play.

Cruz has to be a bigger threat than I thought to the "establishment", even Romney is criticizing him for voicing his opposition to Barry's nuke deal with Iran.

Romney's job, if he doesn't know it yet is to run owebuma down every opportunity he gets.
What makes the job so nice is how easy it is to just let the truth run owebuma down.

He had his chance and blew it. If he can not say something positive about one of the candidate, he should STFU. Also, we do not need any retreads that have run in the past like Huckabuck, Paul, etc.

In the next debate, watch the career politicians regurgitate the same song and dance that they spouted in the first debate. I did this and this and that and that as Gov., Senator, blah, blah, blah. Rather not hear it; I would like to hear what they do will do as Prez. and how they will do and pay for it. Could care less about these personal jibberish attacks and other crap like homo freaks in the Army. That will not happen because the media wants divide us by race, gender and religion. Most people are too stupid to understand that.

If you listen to some of Ted Cruz's speeches he does lay out some specifics.  He lays out specifics in interviews.  The media is trying to silence him; even FOX didn't give him much time during the debate. He is hated by the GOPe. He is the biggest threat that the establishment faces. The only thing that is shielding him from the media destroying him is Trump.  Trump has taken the heat off him.

I love Cruz, I think I'd have multiple orgasms if he's the nominee, but I do see Trump's value. He's not my 1st, 2nd or 3rd choice (he is in my top 5) but if he's the nominee, I'll support him. He's far better than Bush or Kasich. But if he does get the nomination, he'd do well to choose someone like Cruz or Walker (even Rubio). It would go a long way to show the base he cares about conservatism and conservative values. I do think most of them would probably accept. It's would be akin to Reagan choosing Bush (but I bet he regretted that one). One thing you can say about corporate owners, they have to know how to delegate if their business is to succeed. If he doesn't get the nomination, he'd do well to support the nominee the people choose. If he truly wants what best for the country, he will. And I'd love to see him as Commerce Secretary or head of Homeland Security. The shit he could stir while getting things done!

Cruz has guts and has kept his promises, despite all the crap thrown at him from all sides and he has a vision for the country. If the new president turns things around and has the popularity of Reagan when his 8 years are are over, the vice president can win the next election. Had Bush governed like Reagan, he might not have been voted out of office. Unless our nominee is a huge RINO like Bush, the odds of the Democrats winning the election are slim and this is our opportunity to prove conservative values and capitalism works every time.

If The Donald does get the nod, I think it would be reasonable to insist he go to Hair Club for Men. It would still be his own natural hair and he wouldn't have to start his part at his neck.

I should add that one of my biggest fears about Trump is cronyism. Crony capitalism is one of the things that has been most harmful to this country.

I don't buy that term.
If a lib like owebuma finds out a corrupt way to channel funds, jobs, or appointments to his cronies, that's taking tax money, and "spreading the wealth around".
That's income redistribution.
That's socialism at it's core.

Good day.
At what point you just sit out or vote third party?
I have no clue as to who I will vote for yet, I do have a not vote for list though starting with Christie, Bush, and Trump for now. My maybe to vote for list is Walker, Cruz, Rubio and I think Fiorina will be touted as a VP candidate because she is a women. Also like her on my short list.

I don't think I would ever sit out an election or vote 3rd party. To go 3rd party is to hand the dems the election. As enthusiastic as people get about their favorite candidate, the number of people a 3rd party candidate would have to pull to win in a two party system is impossible. We just need to clean house in this party. And we have the best chance of electing a true conservative in this election since Reagan. The country is primed for it. The base, not the elites and all their money, not the media, are responsible for who gets the nomination. We've gotten RINOs the last 2 times because WE allowed it to happen.

Candidates are going to fall by the wayside during this process. Part of the problem (and one reason why it's so easy for the RINO to swoop in and win) is people get so invested in a candidate early on that when that person drops out they're so angry and bitter they have a hard time embracing another person or they just disengage completely. Spend some time at FR during primary season, it's a perfect example. Rush was saying that anyone on that stage during both debates would be a better choice than the democrats. That's how I see it, too.

Indeed the RINO's control the GOP in Washington; which is another concern with a Trump presidency -- he would negotiate however with whomever to get what he wants.

The other concern that I have, is that it is likely that the GOP will not retain the Senate and lose a few members in the House.   It is crucial IMHO to see that a true conservative is seated NOT a RINO or we're simply playing musical chairs and nothing will change.

I have voted in every election since I was eighteen years old. I never ever thought of sitting one out until right after the Nov. Con. We gave the R's power under the disguise of conservatism and were screwed big time. I think continually voting for the less of two evils JUST TO KEEP THE LIBS OUT OF POWER hasn't worked and keeps the RINO'S as strong as ever. Let the R's get hammered to death and either they change to be more conservative or let them rot.
Saying sitting it out or voting third party so Hillary don't get elected isn't worth it anymore. Look what we have now Boehner and McConnell who took up right where Pelosi and Reed left off, Not a lick of difference!
