Ummm, didn't Romney and Ryan get lambasted and demonized by the idiotic, irresponsible left for telling us about this?

It was your Reagan and Bu$h Sr. who stole from the fund to pay for tax cuts for your wealthy people. The people who benefited from your trickle down economics (corporations and those at the top) should be taxed to pay the money back.

When you get a medical degree, you can diagnose people. Until then you are talking out your behind.

A person does not have to be a quadriplegic to qualify for disability. Just because they can do some light work occasionally, doesn't mean they can work a job or re-enter the work force. In fact, many patients are advised by their doctors to "push it" all they can, because the exercise will help lessen their pain or symptoms. Exercise is always good for you. Lack of it is bad. None of that means they are defrauding the system.

They're difficult to  obtain you say? Then how come I hear lawyers on the radio and TV advertising to get YOU SSI or SSDI pro-bono?

  Got news for ya pal, SSDI is the new welfare.

There is an easy fix available: Congress could shift tax revenue from Social Security's much larger retirement fund, as it has done in the past.

President Barack Obama supports the move. But Republicans say they want changes in the program to reduce fraud and to encourage disabled workers to re-enter the work force.

**** both Obama and the republicans willing to screw over legitimate retirees that have contributed to SS. If they want to shift the money from somewhere, do it from welfare, medicaid, the White House's and congresses expense accounts.

It sickens me when they say that SS is going to run out of money, but never welfare or government pensions.

This "much larger" retirement fund will go broke if it stays as is...in 17 years.  Expect taht to speed up quite a bit if they start pouring money from it into the Disability Fund.

But what really confuses me...is that this news comes out just a week after the President is quoted as saying that Social Security is just fine and anyone saying otherwise is just playing politics and scaring people.
