I hate to say, but Trump is starting to look good.
« on: July 13, 2015, 08:40:05 AM »
I'm backing Cruz, but is its a case of Bush or Trump...I'll vote Trump.
They both will have terrible USSC picks.

BUT, Trump isn't afraid to address the two issues that threaten this country the most. Illegal immigration and ISIS...and Jobs, Trump knows the economy.

Bush is to the right of Hillary, but not by much. He has embraced every liberal issue as his own. I cannot honestly say there will be a difference between Jeb and Hill.

With Trump, at least I will get a few things I want.

that said, I'm done with holding my nose and voting for a RINO. If Cruz doesn't make it, I may sit this one out.

I remain cautious with Trump.  Yes, he has ruffled a few feathers regarding illegal immigration and has brought the focus needed on the issue but I am not so impressed with his "mightier than thou" attitude regarding his money. Yes he is successful in business, but we also have laws and a Constitution that need to be respected rather than  acting as if everything is a business deal.

If Bush gets the nomination, he will NOT get my vote; I will right in a candidate or vote for 3rd party if one is on the ballot.

I am still a Ted Cruz fan.
I believe in the United States of America as a government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed, a democracy in a republic, a sovereign Nation of many sovereign States; a perfect union, one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice, and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes. I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it, to support its Constitution, to obey its laws, to respect its flag, and to defend it against all enemies.

I have never not voted in an election, but if it boils down to a Bush v. Clinton matchup, I don't give a shit who wins.  I really don't think either one is too far detached from the other, philosophically speaking.  Bush made a profit cramming Common Core down our throats with his software IIRC and the less said about that hideous beast, the better.  I cannot, and will not, vote for either of those candidates.  Most of the other Republicans show at least some promise.  I like Walker, Fiornia, Carson, Cruz and Santorum, could vote in good conscience for most any other nominee, but Jeb Bush, no thank you.

Actually, speaking with my brain and not my guts, Carly could take the hideous beast.  She's calm, savvy, articulates well, and is clean. :rotf:  Don't know what the disguised dyke could possibly do about blunting her speech.  Anti-woman?  Puhleeze.

I DO think any eventual nominee would be super smart to enlist the Donald's support for him/her by offering Sec Treasury.  No one can pull this pig of a recession out of the mud except a businessman/woman.

Well, I've seen FOX News covering her while she makes herself available for a presser at every hildebeast event. :-)  Umm, not sure Carly has the stomach to do anything re dogs; guaranteed hildebeast is on her own in a kennel.

Sorry, sorta in a raunchy mood tonight.
Oh, wait, that's every night. :whistling:

I think Carly is a Republican plant, and a pretty good one, IMO.... It's pretty unlikely she's gonna win, but she has went complete Pit Bull on Hitlery, w/o being called a sexist.  This exposes Hitlery, w/o male candidates getting called the "s" word.  I personally absolutely love watching her tear apart everything Hitlery says.

There's still a few more things I want to hear on Walker.  Pretty much know where he is on Guns, Abortion (my two most important issues) and Unions.  I want to see where he is on Immigration, and if he is going to be for building some sort of Wall/Fence between the US and our southern invaders. or if he's Bush-lite w/ some sort of other nonsense.

I feel pretty confident my vote is going to be either for Trump or Walker.  I'll probably vote for whoever the R candidate is... the only ones at this point that I don't believe I can vote for, is Bush and Christie (there are several candidates I don't know a lot about, so this list may get longer).

I'm a Cruz fan.

Trump started the ball rolling and I take note of the candidates who are mocking Trump, because the mockers (is that a word ?) are trying to kiss up to the media. Anyone kissing up to the media eliminates themselves for my consideration.

Beside Trump, Cruz knows how to deal with the media, he doesn't apologize.......he educates the media and  other listeners about conservative ideas. Most other candidates seem unwilling to confront media propaganda.

My candidate was Cruz, but the more the media and RINO elite attack Trump the more I wonder why they are so scared of him.

I went over to see my mom and dad today. Dad and I started talking politics. He said that his lung doctor was planning to vote for Trump. He asked me if I knew anything about Walker. I told him that the main thing that I knew about Walker was that he pissed off liberals really well. Dad said, "Hmm. I guess that puts him in the possible category for me."

Well, Trump stepped on his dick today with his comment about McCain.  He has almost zero chance after that ringer.  He probably didn't have much of a chance anyway (once people actually start pulling levers).. but he probably won't survive long w/ that comment hanging over him.

I really hope Trump killed his chances.

The problem with Trump is exactly the same as with any RINO: they will appoint Liberals to the bench.
Trump is for Universal health care.
Trump is a flaming liberal who got it right on a couple of issues.

If it is Jeb vs Hillary...I'm sitting out the election. They both stand for the same things.
If it's Trump vs Hillary...I'll vote for Trump. Just to stop illegal immigration.

Walker is squishy on immigration.
Cruz is the best overall

I agree, but I think many would agree there's a line you don't cross.  An insult (even a veiled insult) to a POW regarding his military service, is not going to sit well w/ a lot of people.

Beck isn't there today, but his radio show is tearing down Trump quite ferociously.
One of their complaints is that he isn't well spoken.
This might have validity to me if they said who they were comparing him to.
If you talk about speaking extemporaneously, he runs circles around Hitlary and owebuma.
They also are going after him about the border, and previously being a dem, and waffling on issues which again, to me only have comparative validity.
They would be better off tearing down the libs in my estimation.

... if it boils down to a Bush v. Clinton matchup, I don't give a shit who wins.

I can see that.  Jeb and Christie are both somewhat-fiscally-conservative Democrats trying to run as Conservatives, but on every social or civil liberty issue they are indistinguishable from Hillary.  Probably marginally better on foreign relations, on which she has a track record of screwing up and trusting crooks and cutthroats, while they have no record at all.

I think Cruz would fail in the general election as the Dems and MSM would successfully paint Hillary as the more moderate (Since she actually has no principles, it's impossible to attack any stand she ever took on them).

Despite being ideal on immigration, I'd say the GOP's best chance to get both the base and the middle to turn out would be a Walker/Rubio or Rubio/Walker ticket.  I do kind of like Carly, though I think she's more from the Fiscal(-Only) branch of Conservatism, but she just isn't polling high enough to add anything, though that could change when it gets down to crunch time and she might be a good VP pick.

Female president.....my opinion....very few women are hard nosed and hard hearted enough to make a good president. I don't say it isn't possible, just less likely.

Congressional elections tend to be different since the turn out isn't as large. Most of the "independents" of this country that decide elections typically only vote in the Presidential elections.
While I hate to admit it, it's true that discouraged bases that stay home tend to help the opponent win. While a Bush-Clinton contest is NOT desirable, I would crawl over broken glass to vote for Bush. A middle of the road republican that will tow the somewhat Conservative party line is better ANY DAY OF THE WEEK than 4 more years of an Obama regime with Hillary at the helm. She should scare you more than any other democrat. She will literally say and do anything to get the job. If it gives you any insight into her character - one of her earliest cases as a lawyer was defending a child rapist. In order to get him a lighter sentence she knowingly slandered the 12 year old girl by saying the child lied. At the time the girl was in a coma as a result of her rape. So any Bush - any republican for that manner has my vote.

When a boxing matchup was in the process of being set up, a manager would call up the first fighter and ask them to "toe the line"
In the center of the boxing ring 2 pieces of tape about 1 foot long were set down on the mat parallel to each other and to the 2 ring ropes on opposite sides.
So the first boxer would climb through the ring ropes and set the toe of his lead foot on the tape.
The next boxer would be called up and asked to "toe the line".
He would place his lead foot on the tape.
Now that both boxers were "toeing the line" they would be "squared off" face to face, for a staredown.
Traditionally they would "put up their dukes" until they were invited to step off the line.
Before they left the ring would shake hands according to Queensbury rules.
That, to my understanding is the derivation of the colloquialism..."Toe the Line".

Staying home in my opinion is basically being willing to allow Obama policies continue and be built upon. A moderate republican can be held accountable once in office by a conservative base.
