(CNSNews.com) - Only 19 percent of American adults know that the First Amendment to the Bill of Rights guarantees the freedom of religion, according to a new survey by the Newseum Institute.

Only 10 percent know the First Amendment guarantees the freedom of the press.

And 33 percent of Americans have no idea at all what rights the First Amendment guarantees.

Scary to think most people do not know what the First Amendment even is.

This and the ignorami who had no clue as to the significance of July 4, 1776 are WTH-grade!

In order to graduate from 8th Grade to high school we had to study the US Constitution for a couple of months and pass a pretty rigorous test on it. That was in CA, in 1968. But even earlier, in 5th Grade, we studied American History. Those questions would have been answered correctly, "in the day", by reasonably attentive 5th Graders!

As the Professor said in The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe[/i], "What do they teach them in these schools?"
