Dear DU 7-1-15

Remember as a FTD dementia patient (also on pain meds for my shoulders & neck) I can be unpredictable, irrational, turn on a dime line of thinking or worse at unexpected times. I've talked about this before. I'm sure the DU will see this again from time to time. You have been warned. Put a reminder note on the fridge.

I'll be re-examining my thumbs for surgery in 2 weeks BTW.

All I can say is I took offense to something that happened this morning. I'm over it. Let us move on.

I will be quiet for a few days with previous plans. I'm taking my granddaughter to see Weird Al tomorrow night. She and I will be keeping an eye on each other for two more weeks at least.  We go to (saw Night at the Museum III for the second time in the theater this morning) movies, maybe have lunch out, go to the park, shop, enjoy each other, etc.

Marta is taking me to see Bernie Friday night. Family get together to grill & neighborhood fireworks Saturday.

Well, it's been at least two weeks since the Big Guy (who is dying) reminded the DUmp that he's dying.

So let's see a little respect.

Thank goodness normal people have a far greater sense of dignity and propriety than DUmpmonkeys like the Big Guy and Pam.

The Big Guy (who is dying) even posted a thread to announce he didn't have Lou Gehrig's disease.

Most of us don't have it, but we don't make an announcement.

The Big Guy (who is dying) reminds me of the old SCTV comedy show, where proprietor Guy Cabellero rode a wheelchair simply for respect.

It's too soon for a goodbye. You're still making sense.

We'll let you know when you stop, if you ever do.
We don't call 'em DUmmies for nothing.

After reading up a little bit regarding FTD, it does appear that it may be fatal. But in a long, drawn out time frame. Say 5 to 15 years.

So, we will still have some laughs with the Big Guy, until he loses all of his inhibitions and just goes stupid, Hopefully, Marta will begin to restrict the Big Guy's access to DU before that happens.

I did read just a few articles, it is a nasty disease that I wouldn't wish on anyone or their dumb cousin. But it is not as rapidly fatal as the Big Guy tried to make it out to be.

The big guy's 58 years old, give or take a year either way.

If such an affliction takes "5 to 15 years" to express itself, that means the big guy might kick the bucket anytime between the ages of 63 and 73 years.....which is perhaps actually expectations too good to be true, given his gross obesity. Fat's a killer.

So, what are the effects of FTD?  Does he become a florist after that time? :whistling:

The only way the Big Guy (who is dying) will be around for 15 more years is if Bellevue has a great taxidermist. Fat will get him first.

This may be the DUmp's first large-scale sympathy scam.

Let's see how many Cornhusker tickets he scores this fall.

It's so unfair. Years of gut rot netted Pam just $260.

I think I just said my goodbyes (updated)

"We make men without chests and expect of them virtue and enterprise. We laugh at honor and are shocked to find traitors in our midst. We castrate and then bid the geldings to be fruitful."

C.S. Lewis

A community may possess all the necessary moral qualifications, in so high a degree, as to be capable of self-government under the most adverse circumstances; while, on the other hand, another may be so sunk in ignorance and vice, as to be incapable of forming a conception of liberty, or of living, even when most favored by circumstances, under any other than an absolute and despotic government.

Is he dead yet?

I bet Steve is pissed off that Nebraska doesn't allow assisted suicide. With a bullet.
