Breaking News: SCOTUS rules no state can ask for ID
« on: June 29, 2015, 03:44:49 PM »
No link yet, just heard it on the radio. Apparently SCOTUS went for a double whammy and have now ruled states do not have the right to request ID for voting.

I'll provide a link when available. I hope I'm wrong somehow.

Supreme Court Throws Out Arizona, Kansas Voter ID Appeal

The U.S. Supreme Court rejected a joint-appeal from Arizona and Kansas on Monday that would have allowed the states to require applicants to show proof of citizenship while registering to vote.

In throwing out the case, SCOTUS uphold a Nov. 2014 ruling by the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, stating that the Election Assistance Commission — the federal agency overseeing changes to states’ voter registration processes — was, “not required to grant the states’ request that proof of citizenship be added to registration requirements,” reports Reuters. The court believed that the federal registration form — requiring applicants to swear they are citizens under the threat of perjury — was a sufficient safe-guard against voter fraud.

Roberts is determined to show the world that he's not even a RINO. He's a full-blown liberal proglodyte scumbag.

All I can say is WTF?   :argh:
I believe in the United States of America as a government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed, a democracy in a republic, a sovereign Nation of many sovereign States; a perfect union, one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice, and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes. I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it, to support its Constitution, to obey its laws, to respect its flag, and to defend it against all enemies.

I'm not 100% sure but I think this just applies to showing proof of citizenship to register to vote because just last year the SCOTUS upheld Wisconsin's voter ID law.

Not counting the disaster of owebuma getting elected then re elected.

I'm not sure we had it to begin with. It seems that the RINO elite establishment is determined to flush every viable part of America right down the shitter. We are held hostage by hostile Republicans who see only the power that they've invested in themselves and their Democrat brethren.

It may be better to have a RINO in office, but I'm seeing the end effect of the RINO elite establishment and how they've got the conservative base by the ****ing 'nads.

The RINOs only have conservatives by the balls only as long as we let them. Conservatives start going to third party candidates (whether that be an official, as-yet-unformed, TEA Party or the Libertarian Party, or whatever), and they lose their power. I know the argument that then the Democrats have no opposition, but, as thing stand now, do they have any opposition anyway?

You're asking a great question. The unequivocal answer appears to be no, they don't.

The RINO elite class and the Dems are all in bed together. Sickening, isn't it?

The more liberals, S..C. and RINOs slap conservatives down, the more I am inclined to vote for a 3rd party candidate for Prez.  Never thought I would say that but it has gotten so bad that this country is in dire straits.

I might be tempted to do that since a conservative's vote in Illinois is pretty much wasted when it comes to the presidency.

I believe that what this ruling says is that the states that sued wanted the federal government to require the same proof of citizenship that they require. They did this because a person can register to vote either through state registration or federal registration. The state registration process can still require proof of citizenship but that the same requirement can't be forced on the federal registration paperwork. Regular ID will still be required.

I just registered to vote here in Mississippi. Documents needed:

1.  Driver's license (need not be from MS -- any ol' state will do).
2.  Copy of a utility bill, mortgage payment, that shows the address and name of those who pay the bill.

Note that a copy of your birth certificate is NOT needed. And, as we all know, a driver's license does not confirm whether or not you're a citizen.

Now when it's time to vote, a picture ID has to be shown. But I submit that that picture ID does NOT have to reflect your citizenship status.

So all this bullshit about photo ID to prevent fraud is just that -- a big, steaming pile of excrement.

The Dems know this, of course, and will employ every known (and even some unknown) tricks in the book to lie, cheat, and commit perjury knowing full well they'll never be prosecuted.

It's all about winning, and they stop at nothing to do just that.

Illinois requires a birth certificate for a picture ID or driver's license along with something showing your SS# and signature, plus a one or two other things.

California is now giving driver's licenses to illegal immigrants. So a driver's license is kind of a wash nationwide.

You got that right!

The RINOs have been telling Conservatives that they don't need our type. But when their RINO, dem-lite candidate loses, we are the first they blame for the loss.
