Perhaps he's finally listened to Senator Jeff Sessions, Rand Paul, & the conservative base!
But will it be enough?
Today is the final vote for ObamaTrade; once passed, there's no going back that I can tell.
Here are some clips from Ted Cruz:

"The American people do not trust President Obama.  And they do not trust Republican leadership in Congress.  And the reason is simple:  for far too long, politicians in Washington have not told the truth."

"As a general matter, I agree (as did Ronald Reagan) that free trade is good for America; when we open up foreign markets, it helps American farmers, ranchers, and manufacturers."

"But TPA in this Congress has become enmeshed in corrupt Washington backroom deal-making, along with serious concerns that it would open up the potential for sweeping changes in our laws that trade agreements typically do not include."

"Since the Senate first voted on TPA, there have been two material changes."

"First, WikiLeaks subsequently revealed new troubling information regarding the Trade in Services Agreement, or TiSA, one of the trade deals being negotiated by Obama."

"When TPA last came up for a vote, both Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL)80%
and I introduced amendments that would have barred fast-track treatment for any trade agreement that attempted to impact immigration law. Two other Republican senators objected, and we were both denied votes on our amendments. Instead, the House inserted substantially weaker language in related legislation."

"At the time that Sessions and I introduced our amendments, many said our fears were unfounded. But now we have far more reason to be concerned."

"Second, TPA’s progress through the House and Senate appears to have been made possible by secret deals between Republican Leadership and the Democrats."

"Why does Republican Leadership always give in to the Democrats? Why does Leadership always disregard the promises made to the conservative grassroots?"

"Enough is enough. I cannot vote for TPA unless McConnell and Boehner both commit publicly to allow the Ex-Im Bank to expire—and stay expired. And, Congress must also pass the Cruz-Sessions amendments to TPA to ensure that no trade agreement can try to back-door changes to our immigration laws. Otherwise, I will have no choice but vote no."

"There’s too much corporate welfare, too much cronyism and corrupt dealmaking, by the Washington cartel. For too long, career politicians in both parties have supported government of the lobbyist, by the lobbyist, and for the lobbyist – at the expense of the taxpayers. It’s a time for truth. And a time to honor our commitments to the voters."

The entire read from the link is riveting.  My flag of caution is to these words from Cruz:  ..."unless McConnell and Boehner both commit publicly."  How can one trust a verbal commitment from either of these progressives?  They have lied multiple times to the conservative base as much as Obama has lied to the American people.

Okay, overall, its positive, & Cruz is going in the right direction.  A little late, but I'll take it.

From the comments:

"Doesn't really matter now does it Senator Cruz, once you all again vote for TPA it only takes 51 votes to pass TPP. We know w/McCain, Grahamm, Flake etc that is not a problem."

Cruz has also been accused of not reading the bill which is false.  He read it ALL, but admittedly didn't go through it with a fine tooth comb.  He goes on to state that there have been two major changes and one that I find troubling is his statement; ""When TPA last came up for a vote, both Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL)80% and I introduced amendments that would have barred fast-track treatment for any trade agreement that attempted to impact immigration law. Two other Republican senators objected, and we were both denied votes on our amendments. Instead, the House inserted substantially weaker language in related legislation."

The backroom deals are concerning as well; so much for more transparency.

I believe in the United States of America as a government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed, a democracy in a republic, a sovereign Nation of many sovereign States; a perfect union, one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice, and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes. I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it, to support its Constitution, to obey its laws, to respect its flag, and to defend it against all enemies.

Hail to the King.  I feel a deep sorrow coming on.  ObamaTrade has passed in the Senate.  Obama is omnipotent. He has infinite powers.  No thanks to 13 Demons & 47 progressive republicrats.

Boehner's not done.  He'll honor the promise he made to Pelosi for the demons that helped pass it in the House.   â€œThe House will consider TAA once it passes the Senate as part of a new trade preferences bill. And we are ready to go to conference on the customs bill. Our goal is to get TPA and TAA to the president's desk this week and deliver this win for the American people."  TAA, welfare, pure & simple, for workers diminished by ObamaTrade.

I'll repeat, Boehner:  "...deliver this win for the American people."  Wow, what gall!  Spin it, John, I'll need re-education before I buy into it.

Bye-bye American Pie.  I know, ya'll probably think I'm too emotional about this.  But it feels like an ending to me.  That's how crappy I believe this bill is for America.  & there's no turning back, & no one to save us from ultimate control enmeshed in our one party governing elitists.  Hey, Boner & Mitch, celebratory bar hopping tonight?

We are living & seeing history in the making.  Welcome to the beginning of a one world government.

This was worse than my refrigerator breaking down on Sunday & living with ice chests.  Hey, I'm trying to lighten up.  Negativity isn't good for the soul.

Well, in my books Rubio just sealed his coffin completely shut; perhaps that's the silver lining (if there is one) to this.  I agree with you Belle; I too am not very optimistic...a One World Order on the horizon and I am seriously doubting that we are going to  make it to the 2016 elections.

You know, a few years ago I would have never even entertained the thought. But more and more the meld between Democrats and Republicans seems to be more complete. It used to be a joke about them being the same, said with a laugh and a nudge. But now? It really is coming to pass.
