House passes TPA
« on: June 18, 2015, 01:20:07 PM »
"The House narrowly passed Trade Promotion Authority Thursday — the first step of many to resurrect President Barack Obama’s trade agenda after his own party torpedoed a combined bill last week."

"The chamber voted 218-208 on TPA, which will give him the latitude to negotiate a 12-nation Pacific trade deal sought by most Republicans and a small number of Democrats."

"Ways and Means Chairman Paul D. Ryan, R-Wis., who has been leading the Republican effort to pass Obama’s trade agenda, held court with colleagues, among them members of leadership and Democrats — those who support TPA, such as Rep. Henry Cuellar, D-Texas, and those vehemently opposed, such as Rep. Bill Pascrell Jr., D-N.J."

But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

I'm ashamed to admit this, but I have not had time to investigate TPA and its ramifications.

All I know for sure is, if John Boehner and Mitch McConnell like it and they're falling all over themselves to get it through the Gang of Thieves Known as Congress, it's no good for the country.  :argh:

They are siding with Obama against the American people. Nothing new here.

JohnnyReb:  "Someone please find us a list of how they voted?.....please."

Usually I can find vote counts quite easily, so I don't know why this eluded me.

So I found this link:  https://medium.com/govtrack-insider/the-house-passes-the-tpa-again-7bdef576c708

& when I clicked on 218 - 208 vote, I got this:  https://www.govtrack.us/congress/votes/114-2015/h374

But that bill is H.R. 2146 Defending Public Safety Employees' Retirement Act.

Okay, please don't laugh me off the board, but HELP!  Was the stand-alone attached to another bill?!?

& while your helping me with that, here's a question:  Do you think Boehner & Ryan promised Pelosi an even larger TAA (this is the welfare portion of the trade bill that's paid for raising small business taxes), since this TPP was the devious stand-alone bill to get the king more powers via fast-track?

If its all a game, its a malicious one:

"This is nothing but a game of controlled opposition by the ruling class elites designed to fool the American people into thinking they have a choice but ordo ab chao is the motto, the endgame, and the eventual result. Do you really believe at this point that there is a clear distinction between the two parties? Do you not yet realize that the lesser of two evils is still evil?"

I tuned into Fox Journal Editorial report today & usually its a pretty good discussion with a conservative slant.  Today they discussed Obamatrade & predictions are it'll not only pass in the Senate, but TAA (welfare part) would also pass as a separate bill.

Everyone on that panel was for it!!!  No dissenters.  Didn't they read any of the articles written by Senator Jeff Sessions, or any of the wiki leaks?  I shouldn't be surprised.  Fox is pro-establishment GOP.  The only thing I can do is tune out.

Not surprising. They've been behind it in the editorials they write in the WSJ...that group is also behind open borders. They once wrote an editorial supporting a Constitutional Amendment allowing for it.

Here is the funny thing... the hard core conservatives like myself don't like it and the far left don't like it. So the far left demonizes the RINO's saying they are the party of no, yet when they give obumbles what he wants, it is still their fault.

Yo extreme left!!! Listen up!!! If you and your minions in the MSM media hadn't demonized the Tea Party this would never have passed. We, the hard core conservatives, wanted to put an end to this type of bullshit and you demonized us. Well this is what you get.

Please **** off and die.
