...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM CDT THIS
EVENING THROUGH WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON...

THE FLASH FLOOD WATCH CONTINUES FOR

* A PORTION OF SOUTHEAST TEXAS...INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING
COUNTIES...AUSTIN...BRAZORIA...BRAZOS...BURLESON...CHAMBERS...
COLORADO...FORT BEND...GALVESTON...GRIMES...HARRIS...HOUSTON...
JACKSON...LIBERTY...MADISON...MATAGORDA...MONTGOMERY...POLK...
SAN JACINTO...TRINITY...WALKER...WALLER...WASHINGTON AND
WHARTON.

* FROM 10 PM CDT THIS EVENING THROUGH WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON

* HEAVY RAINS WILL SPREAD INTO THE AREA TONIGHT WITH RAIN COVERAGE
AND INTENSITY INCREASING THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT AND DURING THE DAY
TUESDAY AS VERY RICH TROPICAL MOISTURE FLOWS INTO THE AREA AND
AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE MOVES TOWARD THE MATAGORDA BAY REGION.
WIDESPREAD RAIN TOTALS OF 3 TO 6 INCHES CAN BE EXPECT WITH
HIGHER ISOLATED TOTALS OF 7 TO 10 INCHES POSSIBLE. THE TRACK OF
THE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL HELP TO DICTATE WHERE THE HEAVIEST
RAINFALL AMOUNTS WILL OCCUR AND WITH THE CURRENT GENERAL TRACK
BEING TOWARD MATAGORDA BAY THEN NORTHWARD THIS MAY FAVOR REGIONS
WEST OF A MADISONVILLE TO KATY TO ALVIN TO GALVESTON FOR THE
GREATER WIDESPREAD AMOUNTS AS WELL AS THE HIGHER ISOLATED TOTALS.

* THE GROUND ACROSS THE AREA IS STILL WET AND NEARLY SATURATED IN
SOME LOCATIONS AND IT WILL ONLY TAKE A SHORT PERIOD OF HEAVY
RAIN TO CREATE RUNOFF. STREET FLOODING WILL BE LIKELY DURING THE
WATCH PERIOD. SMALL STREAM AND BAYOU FLOODING THREAT WILL
INCREASE AS WELL TUESDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY AFTER A FEW ROUNDS
OF HEAVY RAINS HAVE MOVED INTO THE AREA.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD
TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION
SHOULD FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS BE ISSUED.

She sure is on top of things. Must be running out of articles to write.

But yet she stubbornly and steadfastly pays no attention, no attention at all, to the weather taking place in the Upper Great Plains (North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas).....even though we have just as much weather, exactly as much weather, as everybody else.

Why are DUmmies so histrionic?  It is NOT that bad.  I'm here just outside of Houston proper at my office.  I drove to work with no problems and don't anticipate any getting home.  We've had a little bit of rain, but it is mostly scattered even down at the landfall site.

They have to make everything sound like it's absolutely the end of the world.  Is this why they look at things the way they do?

I had an email exchange with a tax rep, for my job, just before noon.  I wished her well with Bill coming ashore--that she'd stay dry--and she told me that she was leaving her office "in a few minutes to stay ahead of (the storm)."

I suppose that maybe she's had a bit more experience with these things than me.

I hear that the drought there is gone . . . :whistling:

The crazy bald dwarf posts these weather alerts because the title is all capital letters. That guarantees that she'll get in another pissing match with the DUmp nadinbullies. In her world, every post, no matter how meaningless, is nearly certain to result in prolonged, snotty combat:

Very brief use of all caps is not an issue, it's only an issue in longer subject lines. And the location in the subject line aids the reader in knowing what (and where) the thread is about before clicking.

At this point I really do not give a shit for the nit pickers on this site.

I rarely see anyone complain about no state info, or even country info (Georgia, for example.)

I think I should feel special

At this point the joke is on them. Becuase I really do not give a shit.

Try it in the Lounge and see if they follow you there

There is so much I do not care to post here anymore... like our review of both races, and where in our opinion they stand. Hell, if I post about my local city council they will complaint. If we have a major fire, watch it on CNN, becuase quite frankly, not worth my time to post it here. They can watch it on CNN.

Forego the all caps headlines from the original and post in plain lc/uc text. When a headline omits location, insert it parenthetically.

I am sorry, but I post as submitted in a news release from the United States Federal Government.

They can go complain to the feds.

No I am not

I am doing a copy \paste exercise and they can go complaint to the feds.

Look, I will not waste time doing any kind of rewrite for THIS place, period, end of discussion. I do not have time for that crap.

I do the rewrites for my readers from my paper..., but they complain regardless, so no, I am not going to waste my time. They can go to you know where.

In fact, I used to care about posting things here, even analysis. We have a couple pieces on the race, one per party. We are non partisan. You think I will ever bother posting those here? Nope, I do not need their crap.

They even got IP banned when they tried their crap at my site.

As far as I am concerned, a few ruin it for everybody else.
(The non-partisan "analysis" on her blog is hilarious. I highly recommend it for its entertainment value.)

yet you bother to post this excuse/rant about how shitty this place is

and reject the kindly phrased helpful advice of one of the nicest people on DU.

how many times are you going to tell us how awful we are and how we don't deserve your words of wisdom and how nothing here is worth your time - except apparently, telling us all how you won't post anything substantial her because we aren't worth it?

Don't feel special Sid.

Only reason, there is space. Once again, what part of verbatim you have an issue with I do not understand.

There's no requirement for a verbatim title in GD...

Adding location information to a vague title is important, and would seem to be common sense to someone interested in effectively communicating with others.

Thanks for adding the city in this time. I'd recommend you do it every time.

I'm surprised teh nGads didn't correct the weather service, and report the inches in metrimetic terms.
She did whine about the haters and caps.  :rotf:
