Romney To Host GOP Candidates at Utah Summit
« on: June 12, 2015, 07:26:51 AM »
As I watched the interview with Megyn Kelly and Romney I couldn't help but wonder if Romney will be running as someone's VP? He certainly has the money and name recognition.  I also find it very interesting that Jeb won't be attending.  Perhaps the date conflicts with his campaign roll out.

Mitt Romney to Host GOP Candidates at Utah Summit

Republican Mitt Romney, who came up short on presidential bids in 2008 and 2012, will reportedly host GOP hopefuls for president at a Utah summit next month.

According to The Washington Post, Romney's 2015 E2 Summit is scheduled for June 11-13 at Deer Valley Resort in Park City.

According to the Post, among the confirmed speakers for the event are Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Ohio Gov. John Kasich, and South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham.

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, who is expected to join the race, was invited to the summit but will not attend, reports the Post.

"The format will be similar to that of the past, with speakers on a range of topics throughout the day and outdoor enthusiast activities each morning and Saturday afternoon," Romney's former national finance chairman Spencer Zwick writes in the invitation, according to the Post.

According to the Post, other confirmed speakers for the event include Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.), American Enterprise Institute president Arthur Brooks, journalist Katie Couric, former defense secretary Robert Gates, former treasury secretary Lawrence H. Summers, and former Obama adviser David Axelrod.

I believe in the United States of America as a government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed, a democracy in a republic, a sovereign Nation of many sovereign States; a perfect union, one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice, and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes. I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it, to support its Constitution, to obey its laws, to respect its flag, and to defend it against all enemies.

If one looks at whom Romney chose for his running mate, then it becomes clear of the rino he really is.

Any talk of RINO Romney and Utah brings me back to the complete and total lie that he (Romney) "saved" the 2002 Winter Olympics that were held in Salt Lake City.

At that time, the establishment GOP was grooming RINO Romney to be the governor of Massachusetts, which was nothing more than a practice run for the Big Job that was coming up in 2008. The lies started then.

The Salt Lake [Olympic] Organizing Committee was essentially run by two guys named Welch and Johnson. These guys basically bribed the International Olympic Committee to ensure that the Winter Games would be held in Salt Lake City. Bribery is, of course, a routine thing done in every country of the world on a regular basis, but in our American sense of piety and non-corruption (which is tantamount to hiding your head in the sand) that kind of thing is frowned upon and, for extreme chest-thumpers, illegal.

So Welch and Johnson got the Games, got the whole thing going, and then the bullshit "scandal" erupted, which forced their resignations.

Along comes RINO Romney, like a modern day knight who is going to "save the day". Bullshit.

RINO Romney did nothing of the sort. He gripped and grinned, did his political thing, may have looked over some data here and there, but the work was largely done, contracts in place, or otherwise well underway.

RINO Romney got the credit, but he did virtually nothing.

But that's what the GOP elite class wanted. And they always get what they want.

I saw this happen -- I lived in Salt Lake City from 2000 to 2004.

Yes, without a doubt Romney is a RINO.  Another perspective on his summit is that he is staging a nomination coup? I thought it was interesting that Romney and Jeb met and then he decided to drop out of the race.  Perhaps he and Jeb are planning to eventually run together?

Nothing surprises me any more, especially the kind of BS "coups" that Romney and his RINO buddies might very well stage. Makes sense, really, though I'm not entirely sure that the lame stream media would beat itself to pieces beating up the GOP candidates during the campaign -- oh wait. They actually hold off on beating up the frontrunner until the nomination is nigh and the RINO elite class has determined who the GOP candidate is going to be.
