The Obama administration is moving forward with regulations designed to help diversify America’s wealthier neighborhoods, drawing fire from critics who decry the proposal as executive overreach in search of an “unrealistic utopia.”

A final Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) rule due out this month is aimed at ending decades of deep-rooted segregation around the country.


The regulations would use grant money as an incentive for communities to build affordable housing in more affluent areas while also taking steps to upgrade poorer areas with better schools, parks, libraries, grocery stores and transportation routes as part of a gentrification of those communities.

“HUD is working with communities across the country to fulfill the promise of equal opportunity for all,” a HUD spokeswoman said. “The proposed policy seeks to break down barriers to access to opportunity in communities supported by HUD funds.”

Chronic poverty is not due to lack of opportunity as much as it is lack of desire.
We have made it acceptable and to a degree comfortable to be on the public dole.
Just one generation is often enough to set the mold and we now are several generations in.

The DUmmies are talking about how bad the neighborhoods get when you have a bunch of poor people living in the same neighborhood.  That is NOT going to change if you move them to affluent neighborhoods!  The places they live don't look like shit because they're poor, they look like shit because it was GIVEN to them and they don't give a damn!

What will happen is what happens every time someone wants to move poor people into an affluent area...the affluent move out. They can afford to because they are affluent. Then the area will turn into a crap hole.

Maybe someone here can explain to me why this is necessary.

We've had 40+ years of Affirmative Action. Black kids get a HUGE advantage in college admissions, including lowered standards for SAT scores. If their inferior public schools have failed to adequately prepare them for college, no problem--colleges now offer remedial education and tutoring to help them pass their courses and graduate. There are scholarship programs available only to Black students, and with all the grants and loans they can get there is no reason why they can't get an education.

In the job market, not only is it illegal to discriminate on the basis of race, but companies need to meet their quota of Black employees, even if it means hiring or promoting inferior Black candidates over more qualified white candidates.

With all these advantages, there should be no obstacles to minority people being able to AFFORD to live in whatever neighborhood they choose to.

So--why???????????? Is this an acknowledgment that Affirmative Action has failed.

Not only that, they do not respect or understand what it took to acquire said nice house. As a result, they will steal every thing in the house and yard given the chance.  Crime rates always go up when you introduce section 8 pavement apes into nice areas until the owners finally have enough and move out. Alternative and true headline: Obama to spread black crime to peaceful and law abiding neighborhoods......with the peaceful neighborhoods tax money.

If there were to be a successful, prosperous, and peaceful black run society, wouldn't we have seen it somewhere in the world in the last three millennium?
