It is normal for authors to put their name in the header of their papers.  And Adobe Acrobat reads PDF files, so it is impossible for a PDF file to harm your computer.

Sorry, pdf files can and sometime do contain viruses. Almost any file can have a virus attached or embedded. This site has been attacked before, so an internal attacked via suspicious software isn't impossible.

Maybe instead of just pounding out pdf files on your computer, you should start a blog.
