Anyone See Rick Perry's Campaign Speech?
« on: June 05, 2015, 09:57:24 AM »
Anyone see the speech and interview last night?  I thought Perry's speech was excellent! He did a good job on the interview (minus the clown in back of him in the audience).

I believe in the United States of America as a government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed, a democracy in a republic, a sovereign Nation of many sovereign States; a perfect union, one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice, and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes. I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it, to support its Constitution, to obey its laws, to respect its flag, and to defend it against all enemies.

Nope. I've stopped caring about who's running for what office here in California because my vote, as a conservative in this state, doesn't matter anymore. This state is under one party rule and will not change until we get a viable party to oppose the Democrats.

But, remember if a Republican wins the electoral college, the Dems and MSM always bitch about the total vote & exit polls.

A happy lib is a bitching lib.
The libs you have to watch out for are the quiet ones.
They have energy to put to evil use.

I didn't hear it, & I'm with Zathras on this, it doesn't matter to me.
Zathras:  "The state is under one party rule..."
My thinking is that when the R's took the Senate that was our last chance to try & push back against O's agenda.
But instead, the R's taunted us with their liberalism; hence, my opinion, the country is under one party rule."

Zathras:  "...and will not change until we get a viable party to oppose the Democrats."
This is true not only for CA, but for America.  We haven't been represented by the GOP for a very, long time.

Back to Rick Perry, do ya'll think he has a chance of winning?  He's smart, & as far as I know he ran Texas well.

I like Perry and he does have a chance. He could turn the economy around which would solve many problems including job growth and hopefuly put a screeching halt to bloating our debt. He is not perfect and if conservatives are searching for one, they are out of luck.

Several of the dogshit Repubs that might become Prez would just go along to get along. Very little would change. I wish Palin would run. She would turn DC upside down and that is what is needed.

I believe Perry has a shot at being the nominee; but he has two strikes against him.  #1 - widely losing the nomination last election and #2 - he has felony charges against him.

He is by far IMHO the best qualified and experienced Republican conservative candidate thus far and as he stated in his speech.  For him, his record speaks for itself.  It's not a matter of what he would do if he was president, but what he has done.

Jeb of course is the other governor with experience, but their records are eons apart and I think Jeb's soft immigration record and his claim to fame on "common core" will sink him ... but then again he has the establishment $$ backing him.

I'm really hoping that for once, an anti-establishment Republican gets the nomination.  If so, we're looking at the White House in 2016!

The felony charges are just a bunch of phony baloney instigated by left wing liberal hacks.

They're just charges. There will never be a conviction. The charges will be dismissed if they haven't been already.

I realize that the charges have been "trumped up" from the left ... but the MSM/left will use it against him.  They are going to need all the ammunition they can create; legitimate or not.
