That forest of strawmen and burnt-out projector bulbs was a bit more dense than I'm patient enough to try to negotiate. Not sure LS actual understands what has happened and been done over the years. Before going "there", I do have to speak to one particularly glaring example of the ignorance of LS:
The kid grew up in this wacko household where sex talk was probably pretty much taboo so he probably wasn't taught any better.
Real-world parents, including Evangelical and Fundamentalist Christians, inform their children, at the appropriate age, about sex. They do it privately - not on the TV screen - one-to-one (or two parents to one child), out of respect for the child. Further, Joshua would have been taught, among many other things in Scripture, the Ten Commandments, Romans chapter 1, and 1 Corinthians chapter 6. These - individually and in combination - make quite clear that sex outside of marriage and otherwise indulging in sexual lust is wrong. I guess it takes a Christian-Hater to be this ignorant and obtuse about what Christian parents do in raising their children.
Joshua Duggar was 14YO when he did the molestation, in 2002 and 2003.
In March, 2003 Joshua was sent out of the home for counseling (evidently not with a counselor DU-folk would approve of)
Those he molested also received counseling at the time.
In July, 2003 Joshua and Jim Bob went to a state trooper who was a family friend, to whom Joshua confessed what he had done; the state trooper did not pursue it further than a "stern" lecture.
The Duggars' TV show began in September, 2008. IOW, the family had observed Joshua's behavior for over 5 years. My opinion is that there is no way in Hades they would have begun the show if they had the slightest doubt about Joshua's behavior.
Joshua told his then future wife, at the start of their courtship, about what he had done. The norm for their particular sub-sub-sub-culture of Christian homeschoolers is that before beginning courtship Joshua would have first asked and received that permission of the young lady's father. That would have been a rather long heart-to-heart talk, and Joshua would have informed the father of what he had done, and what he had done in repentance in the years since.

It's funny and ironic to me. DU-style Libs and Progs claim to be so-o-o-o-o-o to-o-o-o-o-olerant, but cannot admit that people with views they hate can be good people or have changed former bad behaviors. DU-style Libs and Progs claim "fundamentalist" Christians are so-o-o-o-o-o
into-o-o-o-o-olerant, yet most theologically conservative Christians readily receive - as brothers and sisters in Christ - people who have repented from all manner of sin (even the formerly smug and prideful!). Talk about an
other-side-of-the-looking-glass world ("Beam me up, Scotty! There's no intelligent life on
this world!")!
