Santorum RIPS Fox Over GOP Debates

Rightfully so.  With the minimal amount of his money vs. Romney's millions, Santorum did quite well; he was the lone man standing next to Romney.  I think it is an injustice to disqualify any of the GOP contenders from the debates.  Unfortunately, there are many who make their voting choices by watching the news/debates rather than doing further research.

Santorum rips 'arbitrary' rules for Fox News' GOP debate

Former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pa.) criticized Fox News for setting "arbitrary" qualifications to participate in the network's Republican White House debate, saying the rules could prevent candidates from reaching voters.
 
“I’m someone who believes that we should have an inclusive process,” Santorum told reporters Thursday after his speech at the Southern Republican Leadership Conference in Oklahoma City, according to BBC News.
 
“If you’re a United States senator, if you’re a governor, if you’re a woman who has run a Fortune 500 company, and you’re running a legitimate campaign for president, then you should have the right to be on the stage with everyone else,” he said...

...“In January of 2012, I was at 4 percent in the national polls, and I won the Iowa caucuses,” he said. “I was pretty close to last.”
 
“The idea that someone at 11.5 percent is in and someone out at 11.4 percent is out — that to me is not a rational way, particularly given the fact that they’re using national polls, which isn’t a legitimate way, in my opinion, to determine the viability of a candidate,” said Santorum, a possible 2016 GOP presidential contender.
 
“It has nothing to do with the candidates,” he added.
 
“It has to do with the American people,” Santorum said. “What’s fair to them is to be able to see some really sharp people who, at this point, are almost decidedly not going to be in it, unless things change.”...

If one accepts the premise that in the rino, big government field, which Santorum is a part of (my opinion), that in '16 there will be a big difference between an R or a D, then I would agree with Santorum's upset.

But if we recall in '12, the enormity of R candidates, bashing each other, left Romney war-torn & weakened.  Perhaps that's one of the reasons Romney withdrew after his nomination.  & some of us, myself included, had hopes that Romney would be a better President than O. 

We have candidates that many of us know don't have a chance to win, & as I've said, many of these candidates are liberal republicans.  So why are they there?  Free publicity?  Greater name recognition?  We have witnessed election after election of conservative promises, & none have come to fruition.

Look what happened in the SC Senatorial debates.  6 challengers, was that enough to dilute the field so Lindsey won?  I'm sure his huge war chest helped as well.   .

Santorum doesn't believe in personal freedom, personal responsibility, and constitutionally limited government which safeguards the individual liberty of its citizens. He wants politicians to be America's moral arbiters, and bureaucrats to be America's moral enforcers.

Fair enough, we just have a difference of opinion.

I see Santorum (& Huckabee) as social conservatives & big spending government guys.
There's plenty of stuff out there supporting this, when Santorum was a Rep.for 4 yrs, & a Senator for 12.
- never met an earmark he didn't like; named a "earmarker" by the Club for Growth.
- supported no child left behind, which expanded the feds overreach into education.
- in '05, he voted for the pork filled highway bill, which included "Bridge to nowhere."
- in '03, he voted for Part D Medicare Rx benefits, which racked up unfunded liabilities.
