I was just listening to a podcast where the guest said words to the effect:
Once you identify as the victim, you cease to look in the mirror.
Now that...whoever has a diagnosis, they will never get better because they will abnegate self-responsibility in favor of pills.
Possibly pills could help but not if that is seen as the solution instead of a crutch for looking deep down inside and facing whatever it is. There is nothing wrong with a crutch for as long as it is needed.
Proglodytes sense a set of symptoms, they then find some malady that bears those symptoms; they then declare themselves as suffering from Condition X.
Okay. No big deal. Everyone suffers from something.
But Proglodytes make this the sole definition of their lives.
They cease to be capable beings and insist that Condition X will forever define them whereas normal people work to transcend their own Condition X to be as whole as possible.
To a Proglodyte the absence of misery is suffering and Heaven would be Hell.
