4. Potato mushroom hash, we got some morels and some shitakes

at the market on Sunday, and steak.

Seasoning of this is very simple and the taters and onions are already on the stove. The Mushrooms are ready and the steak is thinly cut.

it is one of my bad habits, and with the food allergy, we eat very well in this house.

The conures begged, no, they did not get morels, way, way too expensive... but they got shitakes. (And steak, no way I can cook steak and not give them steak)

Too expensive? They're free around these parts, and throughout the Midwest. I find mine around old elm tree stumps and near ash trees.

When I lived in the Des Moines area, there would be so many found that just about every crossroad on the highways would have an old beat-up pick-up parked there and a sign out that read "Morels: $2.00 / pound".
