Fri May 15, 2015, 01:15 AMnadinbrzezinski (136,812 posts)I know I am pretty knowledgable of TTP and TTiPand I love my job, From time to time I do get an education. This might be of interest to the rest of you as well.Reporting San Diego also talked with David Hoffman on the TTiP and the postal service. “The World Trade Organization is sponsoring the European of the agreement. They are part of the European Union portion of the Agreement which want the postal service to be privatized in this agreement in order to be part of the full TTP package.â€Part of the reason is that the postal service has been already privatized in some European nations, such as Germany and the United Kingdom. The language includes preventing the postal service from developing banking services, which is in the process of being done. It would give services to people who are unbanked, but also be another line of service to keep the service going. This has been very successful in Japan.http://reportingsandiego.com/2015/05/14/ttp-outside-the-post-office/

Are you saying the TPP will privatize the US Postal Service?I don't think so. Nor, do I see where the USPS would be prevented from creating banking services in the USA.I do see that everything imaginable has been blamed on the TPP and Obama.

That's gonna leave a mark.
the postal service has been already privatized in some European nations, such as Germany and the United Kingdom.
Currently, 25.5% of its shares are held by the state-owned KfW bank,
The UK Government continues to hold a 30% stake in Royal Mail[5] through Postal Services Holding Company Limited.[6] The same holding company is also the parent of Post Office Ltd, which was separated from Royal Mail on 1 April 2012 and remains state-owned.
