And I know I'm in a minority on this, but the only reason the cousin has a scanner is to snoop.

While it might be okay for professional journalists to have one, she's not one of them.

She just wants to snoop, she just wants to be the first to know.

Like the rest of us, she could just leave law-enforcement alone, and if there's a story, read about it in the newspapers the next morning.  She has no compelling need to snoop like she does.

Dunno about the stealth thing... if you're using that in public, i would think it would be fairly obvious to the public

Nutcase nadin covering riots in San Diego would be like Barney Fife infiltrating the Mayberry ghetto.

(Actually, while there's no such thing as a riot in San Diego, Mayberry probably did have a ghetto.

It's just that, unllike today, in the 1960s half the people on TV weren't black.)
