You know, the world is going be very pissed at us if we don't have a President Obama.

It occurs to me that Obama is enjoying a certain "rockstar" status on the world stage. In some respects, I imagine they him as a sign that maybe America is making a course correction. If I had to venture a guess as to how we are looked as a nation, we are either "arrogant and stagnating superpower" or "militarily powerful, yet hopelessly provincial". Either way, seeing us bouncing between that has to raised concerns.

If we were to somehow let McCain win this, we are going to be viewed with suspicion and/or pity. I rather think of it as seeing a particularly favorite relative messing up their life and having the effects ripple throughout the entire family. If Obama wins, it gives hope that we are turning things around. If McCain wins, it will mean more turmoil and bickering.

Just a late night insomniac rambling thought.

You know, I don't care who Ghana or Thailand or Paraguay or Albania elects as their leaders, and so I don't give a fudge what non-Americans think about our leaders.

Obama represents a Polaruty Shift....Better things to come is what we can expect from him...

4. The US is definately pitied with respect to healthcare and that won't change appreciable under Obama and the DINO's in Congress.

The scorn and derision in other areas might change somewhat, depending on whether he's elected and how the policies are perceievd abroad. If it's McCian, all bets are off and most of the world will probably be rooting for the economic comeuppance that the US is bound to get in the next 4+ years.

If Bush gets a third term through McBush - there is no more America as far as I'm concerned. It will have been the place of my birth, and I will have had some fond memories of the country it was. But the America I knew will be dead forever.

First, apparently most of the world views the USA (the country) as fairly good place to be otherwise so many people (from Cuba and Mexico especially) wouldn't risk their lives to come here.

Second, although it would be nice be nice if the rest of the world liked our president it's not high on my list of concerns. The Bible, in Mark 8:36, says: For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Granted, the Bible wasn't talking politics in this verse, but it does capture my feelings. If in order to gain the world we have to destroy the country (aka elect Obama) then gaining the world just isn't worth it.

Third, you DUmmies are already viewed as lower than the stink on a runny turd so why are you worried about what people think at this point?

When I look at the rest of the "civilized" world and see what they have allowed to happen to themselves, with only a few exceptions, I can't help but think I would be one DUmbsh*t to give a flip about their opinions.

The "rest of the world" has enjoyed and used the benevolence of the USA for many many generations.  This benevolence was made possible by the free individual spirit of great Americans and the never-fail policies and freedom of robust capitalism.  Without the freedom of the USA, the "rest of the world" would not be able to support their socialism.

If "the rest of the world" isn't smart enough to realize their own situations, then I'm not going to put great store in any opinions they have.   If "the rest of the world" was intelligent enough to earn my respect of their opinions, their opinions would automatically be very different.  The last thing they should support, given any intelligence at all, is a Marxist anti-capitalist president being elected in the USA.

Do the DUchebags notice that the rest of the world is voting in more conservative leaders?

No, that would be reality and reality hurts the drug addled brain.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

I've always wondered what the attraction is to the "Willy Loman School of Foreign Policy" is, anyway.  What good is it if we're "well-liked," but not "well-respected?"

Looking at raw data, it seems people aren't as pissed off with Chimpy McBusHitler as you dummies migh think.

There are about 1.1 million LEGAL immigrants coming into to the USA per year (as of 2006) whereas there are about 4 Million people IN TOTAL who have left (also as of 2006)

And, that figure of 4 Million is thought to be exaggerated, and the true number is much lower. Once the USA becomes a country where more people are leaving then arriving, get back to me, DUmmy.

Call me irresponsible - call me unreliable - throw in undependable too, but somehow I'm just not convinced that "the world" is pissed at us for kicking Saddam, Uday and Qusay Hussein's collective asses off the planet. I'm sure there are a few folks who were getting their oil contracts who are disgruntled.

I mean, are families really sitting around the supper table in Kyrgyzstan discussing what a mean old grinch George Bush is, and how the U.S. has ****ed up the world?  Are they complaining bitterly in St. Lucia over our bitchslapping the headcutters in Afghanistan? Do we really occupy that large a space on the radar screen of the average citizen of Côte d'Ivoire? Of Earth? More importantly, why should I give a shit?

I don't know, but it sure seems to be something that keeps the DUmbasses up at night, even more than that last line of coke.

I've said it a hundred times: There's always people out there who hate us, until they want something from us. Then they love us again.
