1. Which makes me ask the question does he officially switch to being a Democrat on Thursday? Or on whatever date he files paperwork, or when?
He didn't say if he was running as the [D]...

3. You mean the campaign is going to actually involve serious discussion of real issues?

60. Another Obama ... playing the ultra-liberal part
and swinging hard to the right (if) elected.
Oh yes. Bernie and barry- the far right candidates... as compared to Hillary the uber Liberal...

17. Ohhhhh...Debbie Downer moment...
I've huge mixed emotion about this.
I like what he says and where he stands BUT...While he can kick some ass on HRC, I do not believe he can win the final vote.
I also worry that he'll be "wounded" after a campaign...and we SO need his voice in Congress...same for those pushing for Warren.
We MUST retain the White House.
Not so much wounded in a primary against Hillary as found dead of a gunshot wound to the back of the head by natural causes!

26. This is good news but we have to think far down the road on this and how it will playout. Also he's going to have to have lots and lots of campaign money. Where, other than from us, will it come from?

31. RUN BERNIE RUN!
Can we have a Sanders for President room here, where people cannot badmouth Bernie?
There is one for Mrs. Clinton!

38. When is Senator Sanders switching to formally become a Democrat?
I know he has always Caucus with the Democratic Party...I'm grateful. Do you think the DNC Chairwoman will embrace him?
What about Skinner? How will his wife feel about this?

41. Awesome, Hillary was already moving left, this will do more for that.
I hope he gets the media to give him time and attention.

81. I'm glad he's running.
He will present genuine leftist strategies that will be effective for our country to move forward.
I hope he's in televised debates with Hillary and other candidates. That helps me form my decisions, plus I love watching them. I'm very interested in longer type debates and I also really wish the League of Women Voters could get back involved. I read here at DU, in another thread, that they no longer sponsor debates and I think that's a real shame. I'd love to see them feel comfortable enough getting back involved in sponsoring debates.
My other hope is that his candidacy encourages more people to vote. Not only in the primaries and general election, but to vote in state and local and congressional elections, where we need all the progressive support we can get.
Next on my dream list: Barbara Lee from California.
Bernie and Hillary in a TV Debate... Do you think they will try to out left eachother or play to the right?
Either way... so much funny shit will come out of it.
