A couple of guys back east were so pissed-off at the SCOTUS handing the Presidency to the stupidest man in politics, that they started a web-site. If you can see a smilie waving at you, you are here now: Hundreds, then thousands, and even more came to this place. They argued, they formed alliances, they put folks on ignore. Politics can do all of that... And a whole lot of us here... have a whole lot of history here. That is NOT to claim some sort of seniority... It's about history, and acceptance, on-line family, and love. - YEAH... LOVE !!! The anonymity of all things Internet, gives the creeps and the mean, the ability to hide behind that curtain. It can be most disappointing and upsetting to deal with cruelty on a site that is so useful, wonderful, and yeah... caring... most of the time. The site does say that it is advised to have a "thick skin"... and that is the reality of the entire Internet. But today... a friend of ours lies dying... if he's not gone already. :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: And those of us that have been on this ride for a long time... Can recite those friends we've had and lost at DU... The list is too long. We can recite the deaths, births, diseases, treatments, parents, children, grandchildren, adopted children, loves, loves-lost... I promised to keep it short... so much for that, but... Whether you like it or not, me or not, this site or not... We have changed things... you just have to figure out what they are.
But today... a friend of ours lies dying... if he's not gone already.
