other than observing that this lady obviously has no clue what a "one time stimulus package" is supposed to
do, let me just say that it is going to be fun having her around for the next few months  (it may get decidedly
less fun if it goes any longer than that).  The MichelleStar! has the biggest tin ear for politics that I think I have
ever seen.  but she just won't cut the crap and read her talking points, will she?

Michelle Obama's $600 Earrings

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama’s wife, Michelle, complained the government’s $600 economic stimulus check was only enough to buy “a pair of earrings” while stumping for her husband.

“You're getting $600 - what can you do with that?” Mrs. Obama said in Pontiac, Michigan last week. “Not to be ungrateful or anything, but maybe it pays down a bill, but it doesn't pay down every bill every month. The short-term quick fix kinda stuff sounds good, and it may even feel good that first month when you get that check, and then you go out and you buy a pair of earrings."

She made these remarks at a “working women’s roundtable discussion.”

Although Mrs. Obama has been praised by fashionable outlets like Vogue magazine for her sense of style, her comments about $600 earrings reinforces an unflattering image of the Ivy-league educated Obama lawyers. They’ve both been called “elitist” several times though the course of the presidential campaign season.

of course, this is the same lady that whined about the cost of living in either
OH or PA by pointing out that she and The BarackStar! were paying 10,000
(per kid, I believe) for dance lessons and piano lessons . . . in front of a group
of women that lived in a county where the average income probably wasn't
worth much more than three daughter's worth of these lessons.

I seem to forget where in the Constitution it says the government is supposed to pay for my cable and phone bills?  Or my credit card bills?  Can someone direct me to that article?  Cause damnit, I'm sick of paying for my luxuries.  :thatsright:

Government claims the authority to do all this and sooooo much more under the "general welfare" clause of the pre-amble to the Constitution.  Probably the most abused phrase within that document, even more so that "a well regulated militia".

God, what an ignorant bitch!

First of all, what kind of fool goes out and buys earrings with a stimulus check? Her assertion that $600 isn't a lot of money implies that the recipient needs more. "It's a token amount", "the govt should do more" (come on we all know that's her train of thought) blah blah blah....so she's slamming the stimulus for being a one time bandaid and not a very good one at that. Well, the fish eyed fool stumbled onto the truth there. It is a bad idea. It's nothing but a govt shell game. The govt didn't reach into it's magic pot of money and just give people a stimulus check. The American taxpayers funded it.

I'm with WE. She's going to be fun for a while but I'm afraid my patience is wearing thin.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

and the donkeys insist the obamas are not elitist.

nuevo riche trash is all she is and he's little better.
My fellow Americans, there is nothing audacious about hope. Hope is what makes people buy lottery tickets instead of paying the bills. Hope is for the old gals feeding the slots in Atlantic City. It destroys the inner-city kid who quits school because he hopes he'll be a world-famous recording artist.

What's the difference between Sarah Palin and Barack Obama?

One is a well turned-out, good-looking, and let's be honest, pretty sexy piece of eye-candy.

The other kills her own food.

Heard on the news this morning that the DEMOCRATS are proposing another stimulus check to help out the economy.

Weren't they the ones bitching the loudest about the first one that the President did?

M'obama needs another pair of $600 earrings?
