An Interesting Read About Cuba
« on: March 18, 2015, 10:50:06 AM »
I've been reading a lot of negative articles about our “normalization” of relations with Cuba. Most of it deals with this being a move to cement the Castro rule over the impoverished island.

However, this article from one who spent time in a diplomatic position dealing with Cuba presents an interesting view of what is going on in the island.

I'm not foreseeing any benefit coming out of this move with Cuba.
Several years ago similar ovations were made in Vietnam and to my knowledge have not benefitted our country either.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

John Kerry's bro-in-law(Brother??) got a big boost out of it.
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."  Stalin

I don't know that the USA has gained anything directly with Vietnam but is has become one more nation trying to hold back China's expansionism. A lot of 'Nam vets are going back to ease some of the bad vibes they've been carrying for decades.
