I got an iPad air for xmas
 
And when I'm on other sites like DU it suddenly cuts me off whatever I'm reading and opens up the ******* App Store to force me to look at some stupid ad. If the govt. wants people to live with this sort of intrusive bullshit and tolerate limits on the functionality of an iPad because it's recent,I think it's time to get a class action lawsuit goin or toss all the air out.

I'm pissed at my iPad air
 
It interrupts me when I'm at another site like du shuts off du opens up the ****ing App Store to force me to look at an ad,I shut the ad off and I have to go back to du relocate the thread and find where I was at on the thread. This is pissing me off. My iPad air randomly does this shit. I want control over my iPad and I'm sick to death of ****ing ads interruptions and in app purchases crap I'm so pissed it's sickening.what do I do to shut this shit off.forever.

Sounds like skinner sold out to the advertisers.  Only the worst of sites automatically pop up the ad-store.

I'm glad you clarified. I've used this laptop since 2010, and a Nook tablet and a Galaxy Tab (both use versions of Android) and have never seen anything like what she described. I was almost wondering if it was some sort of security hole in iOS, but Mrs. SVPete and one of my daughters have iPads, and they've never complained of anything similar.

There are a couple of conservative news/commentary sites - PJMedia and Breitbart - whose ads do obnoxious stuff, but, again, not anything like what she described. I guess going to "right" websites isn't going to the right websites.

That assumes she is describing her "issue" accurately.

I have seen this happen too where I am checking out some links in twitter and one of them opens up the App Store. Usually Jerry Doyle's Epic Times.
