If DUmmies knew as much about history as they claim to, they would know the slaves on the Southern plantations were very well cared for, unlike the way they were portrayed in "Roots".
Slaves were property, like livestock, and a slave owner would no more mistreat a slave than he would a horse or cow. Slaves cost a LOT of money back then. Contrary to popular belief, most slaves were actually LOYAL to their masters, many fighting along side their owners for the South, VOLUNTARILY.
So, in a sense, DUmbass GummyBearz is right, before the Civil War, black people WERE gold, because they had VALUE.
Today, to the dimratic party, outside of a voting block, not so much.
