Hi everyone

I live in a terrible place, a bit of how I came to be here. I lived in a safe place,a place that had access to everything I needed but my home was sold from under me by my greedy criminal sisters they basically stole my inheritance,anyway,I ended up in a low income place in Cecil co.

Roommate is a inconsiderate rather selfish person,and she has basically abandoned me here,in the beginning it was a kind offer to help me get out of alliance where the staff were abusive,so I took her offer, I expected her to at least participate somewhat in life here,instead she decided to get wrapped up in her cousins dramas and she basically left me here,,I am alone 99% of the time and it's making me sick,I can't get around,don't know anything about this area,all I know is a significant part of the population here are bigots ,religious nuts!ignorant,assholes ,criminals,conservative bully types who cannot handle differences among people.

This neighborhood in its short existence of one year has had break ins,criminals posing as maintenance trying to get into apartments to rob kill rape,someone got shot in building across from mine, another guy was caught shooting at the rental office which happens to be next to this place! There are so many ignorant people.addicts and dealers with escalades renting out here in low income housing.

This little cheaply built complex has been in existence barely one year and already I don't feel safe or mentally well enough to survive here,so,I was trying to get more support in group housing,they even had a shrink specializing in my disorder,but get this I'm not a good candidate not because of the program but because of the ignorant people in this community,they feared I may be harassed beaten or hurt being out and about in the surrounding public area.

I tried to get back to my old county which is not like this place is but they refused my section 8 appeal. I feel like I live in a pool full of sharks,just because I'm transgender,and creative. Why.why why does this world have to be so ****ing mean.

I feel hopeless I have tried so hard to cope with my life being ripped apart,I haven't had enough therapy time,my day program only meets two days a week and those two days are very short,counsellors are overworked have no time to help me, my mom recently had a stroke luckily I got her to the hospital and she is ok but my asshole sisters are doing everything to keep me from seeing or talking to her,why I dunno,as my mom calls me secretly.

this shit is too much,but the hospital can't help because medical assist won't let them keep me long enough to help me find a way to get a decent home or treatment,they'll just spit me out right back into this hellhole. Nothing will change,my sisters won't show up and try to understand cause they don't care they rip my heart and mind to shreds.

Why am I alive for to be hurt again and again,just so when I begin to get better people can ruin my life all over again?

1. I can't identify with all your issues, but at least a few of them are familiar to me.

I'm currently in a situation where I feel trapped. I'm living with my brother and our relationship is difficult at times--so much that I've taken long walks late at night in the heat and cold in order to stop fighting with him. I'm also not getting much assistance with my mental health issues other than free prescriptions, but nothing that addresses the feelings of despair or loneliness.

Unfortunately, the conservative bigots and assholes are everywhere. I try to limit my interactions with them because it only serves to get me more depressed.

Is there any way to find some volunteer work in your area? It may be the way to make contacts that could eventually help you.

I asked the same question at the end of your OP to myself many times. At least for tonight, all I can say is hold on and try to make through until tomorrow. Even if your sisters don't understand, you at least have your mother who will miss you. I hope that you can find some comfort in these words because I was in similar circumstances last year when I overdosed. Just find some way to get past the pain and try to develop a plan for leaving these circumstances that you dread. Good luck to you.

The subway cat was in a 'residential rehabilitation program (mental health facility) called Alliance, Inc (www.allianceinc.org). She moved into an apartment generously provided by the 'roommate', whom the subway cat hates for not paying enough attention to her.

I guess nobody told the subway cat that real felines are aloof creatures, not clingy whiners.

But then the hunter primitive, who may the only person on earth more mentally il than the subway cat, rides to the rescue: 'got internet?'

Why doesn't she just drink a bunch of pineapple juice and use her remote viewing talent to find a better place to live? If people like her can find Saddam using remote viewing, surely she can fly her mind all over the country to find suitable housing and mental health facilities. At the very least she should channel Blackie the ghost chicken being he's the coolest rooster ever. She/it could use a friend, even if most other panthers would find him a tasty treat.

I actually spoke with Blackie the Ghost Chicken concerning the situation and he provided me the following statement:

There are many people in this country who would love to have ANY roof over their heads and be grateful for the protection from the elements. There are also many people in this country with real problems that extend beyond not getting quality free shit. My sympathies always go out to those who are working toward making their own lives better. As for UPG, thus far in life she-he-it has received much more than many and given much less than most. At this point in his-her-its life, it is time to cowboyâ€¦or cat boy/girl up.

When I wanted a safe place to live I WORKED (feel free to substitute Maynard G Krebs "WORK!") and then PAID FOR (and eventually purchased) said safe residence.

It wasn't until CC opened the lens to DU when I learned the truth: THESE THINGS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE GIVEN TO YOU BECAUSE OF THE SPECIAL THING THAT WAS YOUR BIRTH!

What a fool I have been! Now that I am planning my retirement I stumble upon the answer to Life, The Universe and Everything.

The subway cat's a long-timer on Skins's island; many of us are intimately familiar with her.

Yes indeed!
I believe it's been established in the past that all she wants her psychiatrists and psychologists to do for her is just listen to her rant until their time's up, and sign her prescriptions so she can get some more pills. Apparently, the very minute that any of them suggest that her mental state might improve somewhat if she makes some changes in her lifestyle, she gets all offended, finds another shrink, and the process starts all over again.
I at times feel depressed, yet just reading one of her wailing, selfish posts helps me to see that things aren't so bad: At least I'm not her!

I'm kind of torn on whether TexasTowelie giving that suggestion would work or not.
On the one hand,
1. While volunteer work doesn't offer a paycheck, it's true that it could lead to contacts and connections that could help in finding a job.
2. I can personally attest to the fact that volunteer work in service to others, in addition to obviously benefiting the community (For all the subway kitty's whining about the poor state of the neighborhood, did she ever stop to think that maybe doing a little volunteer work within the community could help improve things at least a little bit?), can prove to be very beneficial to the one doing the volunteering, help them feel better and get a better outlook on life. Doing good makes you feel good, after all.

On the other hand, I seriously doubt the subwaykitty would take such good advice, again for two reasons:
1. She'd probably be afraid that doing volunteer work would cause her to come into contact with "Ignorant" or "Bigoted" people (By which I'd assume she means people who are different from her and/ or don't wholeheartedly accept, embrace, and celebrate her bizarre, at times grotesque lifestyle).
2. More importantly, one of UGP's most prominent personality traits is what a deeply, profoundly selfish and self- centered person she is. She's only capable of thinking of herself, her own problems, and her own "Needs" (Many of which are things that most average people would consider to be "Wants" rather than "Needs"; Liberals are rarely able to tell the difference). Volunteer work usually requires at least some level of selflessness, empathy, and recognizing the needs of others. UGP is devoid of all these qualities.
