A federal judge has granted a request by 26 states to temporarily block President Obama's executive action on illegal immigration, allowing a lawsuit aimed at permanently stopping the orders to make its way through the courts.

U.S. District Judge Andrew Hanen granted the preliminary injunction Monday after hearing arguments in Brownsville, Texas last month. He wrote in a memorandum accompanying his order that the lawsuit should go forward and that without a preliminary injunction the states will "suffer irreparable harm in this case."

"The genie would be impossible to put back into the bottle," he wrote, adding that he agreed with the plaintiffs' argument that legalizing the presence of millions of people is a "virtually irreversible" action.

The first of Obama's orders -- to expand a program that protects young immigrants from deportation if they were brought to the U.S. illegally as children -- was set to start taking effect Wednesday. The other major part of Obama's order, which extends deportation protections to parents of U.S. citizens and permanent residents who have been in the country for some years, was not expected to begin until May 19.

But how much do you wanna bet O is not stopping anything and going full speed ahead in spite of the court? He has ignored court orders before.

Because neither Boehner or McConnell have tried to get public support for impeachment. IF they made a much bigger issue of Obama's "emperor actions" maybe sentiment would be there for impeachment.

We have too many "don't rock the boat" republicans.

People like Nina Easton think republicans should just do what Obama wants and "WAIT" for 2016. Putin might invade the United States by that time and Obama would declare that situation "power sharing".  :thatsright:

Take a deep breath and drink some Reality Cola:  it doesn't matter whether the public supports it or not, impeachment is a Congressional process, not a referendum.  The Dems with at absolute most one or two exceptions would close ranks and vote for the slimebag to stay in office, the entire thing wouldn't accomplish a damn' thing because conviction and removal from office are completely frickin' impossible for reasons that are no less real for being entirely political.  It would accomplish nothing except handing a cudgel to the press that they would use mercilessly again and again until the 2016 election.

I distinctly remember when Henry Hyde delivered the articles of impeachment to the secretary of the Senate in Slick Willie's case.

The MSM could not have been more sneeringly defamatory at Hyde's appearance, demeanor, and comport. While I saw nothing remotely wrong with any of that, the commentary made Hyde appear negative. As a result, Hyde WAS negative and wound up that way to the average LIV.

The MSM is a force to reckon with. It's ugly, it's more often wrong than right, and it's unfair. But it's real and it's in our faces. Pretending it isn't there doesn't work.

Until a president is caught with a bloody knife in his hands and the decapitated body of a political enemy at his feet, no Democrat president will EVER be impeached and convicted. Simply ain't gonna happen. The Dems have a firm grip on the MSM. Brian Williams, Diane Sawyer, and Katie Couric are addicted to the Kool-Aid, as are their producers and senior editors.

I saw the DHS has listed right wing groups as the largest internal threat to US security.  They ignore completely the open borders that allow anyone from anywhere to enter in secrecy.

Supposedly the LATimes has long held a video with Obama at a Islamic fundraiser. The MSM is complicit in this up to Obama's big ears.
