Creating fake 'enemies' in order to dominate the planet: U.S. trained ISIS at secret Jordan base

::) From a "report" last summer

Aaron Klein - WND.com - Tue, 17 Jun 2014

Members of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, or ISIS, were trained in 2012 by U.S. instructors working at a secret base in Jordan, according to informed Jordanian officials.

The officials said dozens of ISIS members were trained at the time as part of covert aid to the insurgents targeting the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Syria. The officials said the training was not meant to be used for any future campaign in Iraq.

The Jordanian officials said all ISIS members who received U.S. training to fight in Syria were first vetted for any links to extremist groups like al-Qaida.

In February 2012, WND was first to report the U.S., Turkey and Jordan were running a training base for the Syrian rebels in the Jordanian town of Safawi in the country's northern desert region.

That report has since been corroborated by numerous other media accounts.

Last March, the German weekly Der Spiegel reported Americans were training Syrian rebels in Jordan.

Quoting what it said were training participants and organizers, Der Spiegel reported it was not clear whether the Americans worked for private firms or were with the U.S. Army, but the magazine said some organizers wore uniforms. The training in Jordan reportedly focused on use of anti-tank weaponry.

The German magazine reported some 200 men received the training over the previous three months amid U.S. plans to train a total of 1,200 members of the Free Syrian Army in two camps in the south and the east of Jordan.

Britain's Guardian newspaper also reported last March that U.S. trainers were aiding Syrian rebels in Jordan along with British and French instructors. http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/mar/08/west-training-syrian-rebels-jordan

Reuters reported a spokesman for the U.S. Defense Department declined immediate comment on the German magazine's report. The French foreign ministry and Britain's foreign and defense ministries also would not comment to Reuters.

The Jordanian officials spoke to WND amid concern the sectarian violence in Iraq will spill over into their own country as well as into Syria.

ISIS previously posted a video on YouTube threatening to move on Jordan and "slaughter" King Abdullah, whom they view as an enemy of Islam.

WND reported last week that, according to Jordanian and Syrian regime sources, Saudi Arabia has been arming the ISIS and that the Saudis are a driving force in supporting the al-Qaida-linked group.
http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/03/10/us-syria-crisis-rebels-usa-idUSBRE9290FI20130310

WND further reported that, according to a Shiite source in contact with a high official in the government of Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, the Obama administration has been aware for two months that the al-Qaida-inspired group that has taken over two Iraqi cities and now is threatening Baghdad also was training fighters in Turkey.
http://www.wnd.com/2014/06/source-besieged-iraq-sees-obama-as-jihad-accomplice/

The source told WND that at least one of the training camps of the group Iraq of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Syria, the ISIS, is in the vicinity of Incirlik Air Base near Adana, Turkey, where American personnel and equipment are located.

He called Obama "an accomplice" in the attacks that are threatening the Maliki government the U.S. helped establish through the Iraq war.

The source said that after training in Turkey, thousands of ISIS fighters went to Iraq by way of Syria to join the effort to establish an Islamic caliphate subject to strict Islamic law, or Shariah.

5. You seem to have missed a World Nut Daily correction to the story

"EDITOR'S NOTE: Since publication, this story has been corrected to clarify that the fighters trained in Jordan became members of the ISIS after their training."

I'm not going to link to that right-wing conspiracy bullshit site, since it ought to be on the banned list, but you owe this board an apology for your bullshit OP title.

First, WND is the home of CT nuttiness, hardly right-wing, just insane.  There are at least as many Left-wing CTers as Right-wing ones, they essentially thrive in paranoid environment where whatever party is, or was recently, in power is up to no good, and by God, they're gonna prove it even if they have to invent three more CTs to validate their favorite pet rock.

Second, even if the core element of the corrected story is true, that's exactly why we should stop this BS about destabilizing the dictators in the Islamic world to "Foster democracy."  While this idea has big proponents in both parties, including the Bushes and Clintons as well as the State Dept. bureaucracy and the DOD senior leadership, it's fundamentally flawed by the failure to realize that the Mid-East in the 21st Century is not America in the 18th, and those dictators are the only thing keeping a lid on the Caliphate-crazed militants, who are a vastly stronger force and more unified force than the smattering of 'Modern democrats' in those countries, and will move immediately and strongly into any power vacuum created by removing the strong man.  Removing the dictators does not move the clock forward in those countries, it moves it back.

I could have missed something in the article, but what it looks like to me is that the BHO MALAdministration arranged for or gave training to people they thought would be good rebels/insurgents in an effort to bring down Assad (as was done in Libya). Only, just as in Libya, BHO's peeps did a crappy job in vetting (as if doing it well would have been possible!) who got trained, and some or all who were trained were from ISIS.

IOW, BHO & Crew messed up (putting it nicely). And because they were trying to bring down Assad, blaming the mess on Bush's 2003 invasion of Iraq won't work. Except in ProgLand.

Well, yes...the first lesson in that is that 'There is a tomorrow,' in that once you train and equip foreign fighters for one contingency, you have no control over what they do with it as their personal situations develop, no matter how trustworthy they might have been at the particular window of time and however narrow the contingency involved.  Life goes on for them as things change, the same as it does for us with our uniquely-ADHD level of national commitment to anything requiring military effort.

The second lesson is that Libya and our unnecessary slaughter of thousands of conscripts there, and the efforts in Syria are completely misguided by ideologically-based blindness in our own leaders.  The Realpolitik fact is that democracy is the last thing that the 'Arab street' wants to see.  The democracy advocates are heterogenous with no two of them completely sharing a vision about where to go for an end state, while the theocrats are violent, militantly organized, have a single unifying idea, and vastly outnumber the allegedly-democratically inclined.
