While Debbie Schlussel has some following, it's rather stupid to claim she represents the views of conservatives generally.
I realize DU-folk, like many Libs and Progs, are not likely to view people they bitterly hate as complex, but my feelings about Mueller are just that. She was doing reprehensible things, acting from a worldview that probably set her up for being kidnapped (raped?) and eventually killed. I don't think Mueller deserved to be killed - and it certainly is a tragedy for her family - but sometimes the consequences of foolishness are far greater than the foolishness itself.
Like Rachel Corrie, Kayla Mueller went to the ME with a worldview that (among other things) saw Jews as evil, and the various flavors of Arabs as their victims. Whether or not she realized it, the Arabs, at least, proved her wrong, fatally wrong.
So, for me, her death was sad and the culmination of a very sad life.
