I saw that article. It was farm subsidies for not farming corn blah-blah-blah. They had to lump in her uncle to get the amount up to (I think it was) $465,000 over about a 15+ year period. Hell, some DUmmies knock down more than that in that period of time for not doing anything.
....and don't forget that a lot of those vote buying farm subsidies were pushed through congress by democrats.
It ain't that hard to find the payments from the USDA. It's public info. Just go to their website and you can look up the checks paid to whoever by ZIP, County, etc.
I use it to gig the few friends that still farm when they start poor-mouthing their plight as "poor" farmers. There is one friend, who farms in partnership with his brother on 1600 acres of prime, Central Illinois black gumbo corn belt land near Bloomington, IL. Got a 'bad' tield in the last drought year. Only 225 bu/ac. What really subsidizes his farming is the oil royalty checks from the section of land their Grand Daddy bought on a Sherriff's sale in Bowman ND. He showed me his check from 2011. One third cut, $1.2 Million. Two wells pumping 300 plus barrels, every day, morning, noon and night.
On a side note, Do you know how farmers have that rolled bill of their seed corn company ball cap? They get that looking in the mailbox for their subsidy check.
