The US is a Center LEFT country! Broad Support for Progressive Proposals among 2016 Voters!
Remember how often we are told 'we can't do that, or we can't do this, because this is a Center Right Country?

Despite polls consistently showing that Progressive Policies have support from across the Political Spectrum.

The results of this latest 'Big Ideas' poll confirms that we are a Center Left, actually on some policies, VERY Left, country:

National poll of 1,500 likely 2016 voters conducted by GBA Strategies on behalf of the Progressive Change Institute. More details on the poll can be found on the last page, including poll dates, sample sizes, and margin of error.

Likely 2016 voters (Republicans, Independents, Democrats) were asked to say if they support or oppose the below proposals.

You need to click the link to see the charts which are eye-opening as far as the REALITY of what voters want, and the decades long LIE we are told regarding where the Country stands on Progressive policies.

I can't copy the charts. But, eg, let's see where the Voters stand on Social Security eg.

These are the questions that were asked of the voters.

We are told Republicans hate SS. So we have to 'compromise' on SS!!!!

Really?

EXPAND SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS (MESSAGE A)

Increase Social Security benefits, so that a
worker at age seventy-five receives
four-hundred-and-fifty-two dollars more
in benefits per year and at age eighty-five
receives eight-hundred-and-seven dollars
more per year.

Overall support for this proposal? 70%!!

Broken down into party support:

Dems: 83% FOR
Repubs: 62% FOR
Indeps: 63% FOR ...

blah blah blah

31. Why doesn't this post have 200 recs?

Most important post this month.

Maybe because a few actually checked the methodology of of the poll sponsored by the "Progressive Change Institute."

Quote
POLLING INFORMATION
•
Conducted January 9th – 15th, 2015 by GBA Strategies on behalf of the Progressive Change Institute.
•
Interviewed 1,500 likely 2016 voters nationwide (MOE +/- 2.5%) with every policy question posed to a split sample
of 750 voters (MOE +/- 3.6%) to compare messaging and policy variations. With an oversample, 308 drop-off
Democrats, defined as Democrats or Obama voters who say they did not vote in 2014, were interviewed (MOE +/-
5.6% for full sample, +/- 7.9% for split sample).

•
More than 25% of interviews conducted via cell phone.
•
583 (38.9%) of those interviewed identified themselves as Democrats, 382 (25.5%) as Independents, and 507 (33.8%)
as Republicans.
•
Voters were asked to rate proposals on a scale of zero to ten where zero means they strongly oppose the idea and ten
means strong support for the idea and a desire to see it become law. Zero to four represents opposition for a proposal.
Five is neutral. Six to ten is supportive.
•
Questions that resulted in one or more non-response are noted as “No Response.”

Tell me the question, give me the response you want and I'll go get it for you.

But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

1. Ask the people of Venezuela how communism/socialism/fascism is working out for them.
2. Every poll shows that the USA is conservative in its views. Actual leftist are 20%+/-.
3. Now ask those people if they would like to chip in $800/year to get those results.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Venezuela now has empty grocery shelves, thanks to Sabrina's beloved socialism.  People can't eat, you dumb bitch.  This was featured on twitchy the other day, when some vacuous asshole asked "Venezuela should be a rich country!  What happened?  The government ruined the economy!"
How about that socialism?

Hopefully I won't forget next time.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

10. If it is so CENTER-LEFT why do rightwing lunatics keep getting elected?

Minus the "lunatics" label-epithet this resident of the DU corner of Hobbiton points out the gaping hole in the OP's "reasoning". And Hissyspit's talking-points-grade response is silly.

Many/most states' Congressional districts were mapped out by D-dominated legislatures (including populous states like CA, NY, and IL), so if gerrymandering is relevant, it resulted in more Ds in district-based offices than would randomly drawn districts. Gerrymandering is irrelevant where statewide offices are concerned - Governors, State AGs, US Senators, US President & VP.

"Voter suppression" is similarly ridiculous, because such a conspiracy would have to be of massive magnitude. Additionally, keeping an effort such magnitude secret would be impossible. Too many people for every one of them to keep silent; too easily infiltrated; a MSM that would LOVE to expose such an effort.
If The Vaccine is deadly as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, millions now living would have died.
