The irony is voting against the pipeline is actually the more "environmentally disruptive" alternative. The oil is still going to move, but instead of it being pumped, its going to be hauled.
Its as if the primitives believe that Canada is going to toss its hands up and say "Oh well, I guess that means we need to stop drilling/'fracking' etc. for oil and open up another Tim Horton's instead. ".
Nope.
They are going to move that oil either by ship or truck to its destination, be it a refinery or an already existing pipeline.
And that actually INCREASES the likelihood of a spill, because of the additional moving parts involved. And it increases pollution as it will take oil to move oil. But you know what primitives ? > You keep on keepin' on. Reality will punch you in the face sooner or later, as it always does.
