1958 Rose Bowl Queen Snubbed, Returns to 2015 Parade
« on: December 31, 2014, 09:48:34 AM »
Mrs E and I got into one of our rare political discussions (she's a card-carrying liberal and I am not). She related that the All Barack Channel had a warm 'n fuzzy story (that's her description of it, not mine) concerning this woman who was initially dubbed the 1958 Rose Bowl Queen but was later snubbed after it was established that she was half-black and married to a black man (apparently a Tuskegee airman and WWII vet).

My immediate impression:

Just another attempt made by the lame stream media to plague and perpetuate White Guilt.

We are all supposed to fall on our swords about how this woman was wronged and somehow make restitution by allowing the warm 'n fuzzies to invade and overtake our cold, cold hearts.

Discuss.

Was it wrong for her to be snubbed? Yes and no. Back then it was the norm however morally right or wrong.  It would never happen today.  In fact, the opposite would probably happen. She would be named the Rose Bowl queen simply because she was half black. That is just as wrong as it was to snub her back then.

Why is there a "Miss Black America" contest but no "Miss White America" contest?
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."  Stalin

Why is there Black History Month and no White History Month?

The second somebody would bring that question up, the response is "Because whites WROTE the history books as it is!"

And then I review the history of some really shitty types like WEB Du Bois (not the revisionist history, but his real history) and I think that yep, white LIBERALS wrote this garbage.
