Seems that 1StrongBlackMan has made another thread whining about the original. Put in what may have been some deleted comments in the thread. He/she/it put it in General Discussion. Looks like a racial war may be starting at the dump.

The title: DU ... Just So You Know, It's NOT Our Imagination ...
The OP:
This thread is a huge bonfire too. I won't bring any of it over. Lots of "Amen" and "that is horrible" comments.
Dang! 1SBM skillfully managed to provide examples of what "White America" referred to. 1SBM may work out at the gym, and be strong in that sense, but the dude sure is weak when it comes to living in and acknowledging reality.

For what little it's worth, two of my grandparents came to the US in the 20th Century, another either came to the US in the late 19th Century or was the child of parents who came at that time, and my fourth grandparent was the child of Northerners. So none of my ancestors were slave owners, and as "White America" suggested, that is true of many, if not most, "white" Americans.

Frankly, I don't think the great-great-grandchildren (maybe a couple more "greats" should be added to that) of slave owners have anything or anyone to apologize for or to: they aren't oppressing anyone; they aren't living off what slaves helped earn; none of the blacks they may encounter were ever slaves, nor were their parents, nor were their grandparents, nor were their great-grandparents.

IMO, many among blacks need to abandon the
Victim-Confrontation approach of W. E. B. DuBois and go back to Booker T. Washington's approach of blacks making themselves indispensable members of their local communities. Washington's approach doesn't give instant gratification or revenge and is hard work, but it will actually work (and for many blacks, it already has!).
