We trim them back every other year.  We have wisteria on a metal arbor by the entry way to the pool equipment (back behind the larger crepe myrtle).  We had wisteria on our fence at our other house, it basically took the fence down so we wont be having it grow on our new structure.

LOL unfortunately I didn't "get it" the first time we had a pool at our old house.  We planted a crepe myrtle fairly close to the pool and the flowers were a PITA.  So I decided not only to plant TWO crepe myrtles by this pool, I planted one that gets HUGE as well.  I never learn my lesson.
You just need to hire a cabana boy to keep it clean for you.   :-)

BEG it's just stunning! You and your husband have a good eye and are so talented!!! I love thecurve of the deck and the pond. Simply gorgeous!!!

I don't feel confident enough to post my pictures on ratemyspace.  I don't take criticism too well. Especially when someone criticizes something my husband has done.  Once a friend and I posted on this one decorating board and I posted a picture of the built in desk/wall unit my husband built.  The first piece of furniture he has ever built.  Someone said that they didn't believe that he built it as they had seen that "MONSTROSITY" at a discount furniture store just last week.  I went off.....

Here is a picture of it just after we finsihed painting the room, there is another row of the "squares" at the top.  I guess I missed it in the picture.  This was taken about 5 years ago.  Don't look at the stuff on the shelves as I just threw stuff up there to take a picture.  It looks completely different now.  My son is getting ready to paint the ugly yellow color a different color.  I have hated the yellow color since day one.  It looks ok in the picture but in real life it is putrid.

Oh BEG that's gorgeous! He built that?? Wow! I love that style.

You'll have to show us what is looks like when it's repainted. I think it looks fine in the photo but I know what you mean. I've got some ugly paint in one room. It looked so much better in the store!!!

I have noticed some idjits posting on ratemyspace. *eyeroll* they are probably just bitter and jealous.

Wow BEG, I'm amazed. You guys did a fantastic job. I also heard that not only are you beautiful and have a beautiful home, but you have a gorgeous hubby as well? Say it ain't so. I don't want to be THAT jealous of you. ;)

Look what I found when I went out a little bit ago to feed the fish....



We had some huge dragonflies hanging around while my husband was building the pond, now it seems all we have are these fairly small Damselflies.  I don't know the exact difference between a dragonfly and a damselfly.

Yes, that would be a huge hole in my basement wall!! Totally jealous eh? Yeah, it's fixed now but still. I can see the envy in your eyes. If you look hard enough you can see part of my back yard.


And finally, the basement... err, indoor pool! Ha, I have an indoor pool and you only have a clean one outside with flowers floating in it. The body cleansing mud is no longer there. Just a few inches of water now since it rained again. Yeah, mine is fresh water.

Just remember, basements were invented to give northerners something to fixate upon to keep their minds off their lousy choice of geographic location.

BEG - I'll send you my son. He'll clean your pool for free without whining like a DUmmie as long as you let him swim in it. And feed him of course :-) I swear, that boy has gills. He lives in the pool here!!
