Congratulations! to
cali, winner of the 6th spot in the Top DUmmies of 2014.
The bitter old Vermontese cali primitive’s been around the block a few times, although not as many times as one’d expect.

As with Lamond X, the MrsCorpio primitive, she’s been on the ballot all ten past elections; one wonders why she’s been so unrecognized, because she‘s surely stellar in her appearances on Skins‘s island, and subsequently here in the DUmpster.
I will say that some decent and civilized people retain a mild affection for cali, despite her raw, savage, unrestrained bitterness and hate; she’s after all a reasonably attractive slender woman, and can be elegant, betraying evidence of her good breeding those few times she chooses to be so.

The bitter old Vermontese cali primitive’s 60, 61 years old, and lives in northernmost Vermont, right on the edge of America. She was born and raised in both Connecticut--Old Money and Much Money--and California, and so one wonders why living in isolation among the unpeopled mountains and trees there appeals to her.
She’s single, but she’s been married, or at least shacked up with guys before…..or at least hopped around in the sack with a lot of guys, like the windy primitive, the “In_The_Wind†primitive, or the graywarrior primitive.
But before going on, one has to mention her biggest
faux pas, from 2011, where both primitives and decent and civilized people watched in real time--it happened right before our eyes--as she got herself fired as cook at a tea-and-crumpets place:

The saga’s so well-known there’s no point in repeating it here.
And congratulations to our member, shown above, who when originally posting the topic, had not the slightest idea things were going to turn out they way they did; those are the
best primitive threads.
If one wants, one can however find it at:

It’s always been apparent that, for whatever reasons, cali since her childhood and adolescence s-o-o-o-o-o-o many years ago, aspired to be a rebel.
Not for any specific reason; she just wanted to be contrary.
Now, there’s usually very good reasons to rebel against the conventional, but rebelling simply for the sake of rebelling, is pretty pointless, and leads to no good end.
…..[She]…..was raised in rather affluent circumstances in Connecticut, and was sent to a girls’ polishing-off school in California. Given the culture of the times, she became hippie-ized, a radical chic chick, for whom one of her hobbies was hanging around with the sort of persons she’d heretofore been utterly ignorant, a certain minority group.
Such interest wasn’t because she was truly interested in the plight of the oppressed, but simply because she wished to shock, to offend, what she thought of as the dominant-culture oppressors…..
A lot of hippies were like that; it was a way of getting back at their parents.

Another example of cali’s pointless rebellion, just for the sake of rebelling, is seen in her rejection of the Faith of her people, in favor of possibly the most enigmatic religion for those of European (and African and Latin American) derivation to grasp, and practice.
In all the history of those of European derivation tackling Buddhism, only two of them--Annie Besant and Sir Christmas Humphreys--ever even came close to understanding this eastern religion.
And even they admitted their understanding of it was imperfect, given the people and culture from which they’d come.
Buddhism of course is a valid and useful religion, with a very long history, in which hundreds of millions throughout the ages have found both solace and self-awareness.
But it’s a religion for a certain people in a certain place at a certain time, not for those of us on the outside flippantly seeking to rebel, just for the sake of rebelling.

And inevitably, cali’s a flop, a dismal flop, as a Buddhist; one gets the impression she’s not
really trying.
One of the main tenets of Buddhism is that one finds self-awareness by ridding oneself of all anger and hostility.
But, for example, the bitter old Vermontese cali primitive’s not even
trying to free herself of her vendetta, her rage, her hate, against George Bush.
When she comes to accept, and love, George Bush (and other Republicans, and conservatives, and pro-life adherents), then her conversion will prove sincere, but that’s
never likely to happen.
