I want to explain something about victims, having worked with a few over the years.
Lying on your back for $$$ doesn't count as working with them. I highly doubt you've worked with anyone, in reality, since you're a pathalogical liar.
They WANTED this execution, not because they are evil, or depraved, or want a pound of flesh. They think, in the most honest of ways, that the death of Troy Davis will bring them peace.
It will bring them closure, if not peace. But we don't execute people to bring victims peace, Nadin. We execute people to serve justice, to provide, hopefully, some small amount of disincentive for future scum to commit such horrible acts. It was more of a disincentive before liberal lawyers got involved to keep these scumbags alive for an average of 18 years after the death sentence is handed to them, but that is the purpose. The death sentence isn't about bringing "peace" to the victims, ergo your entire post is a logical fallacy wrapped in emotional, self-contradictory jibberish. Nadin truly is a single brain-celled organism.
I can ALMOST guarantee that this will not be the case. The families of people who die violent deaths think they will find that peace, but rarely do.
Yes, but the son of a bitch isn't alive to commit any more atrocities, and that's about as close to peace and closure as the family will get. They'll always have a hole in their heart where the true victim was.
I do not begrudge them... I actually get it...
You get it? Highly doubtful. You don't seem to get much of anything. Ever. Again, more logical fallacy, since the point of executions isn't to bring peace to victims.
but here is where justice has no place for human emotion. Emotions cloud our thinking and make us wish for things that are crazy... and at times... yes, smile at the death of another human being. It is socially inappropriate... but I get it. It truly is not black and white, it truly is not.
Social appropriateness is based largely on emotion these days. You just said justice has no place for human emotion. Make up your $@#%ing mind. You simply have no earthly clue what the hell you're talking about, and this drivel makes zero sense. You have a talent, Nadin, for taking one giant logical fallacy and filling it in with little tiny self-contradictions all along the way.
And I sincerely hope they find their peace... even if I doubt they will because that rarely happens. And that is the empty promise of the eye for an eye legal system.
Peace isn't the ultimate goal here, moron. Justice is. We don't kill people to bring others peace, as I already mentioned, dufus. It does help with closure, though.
This will move things though against the Death Penalty. Listen to the former warden who actually carried them... that is what we will need.
Thanks Warden for saying this too.
So you're glad that a logical fallacy might sway policy? Typical @!#%ing liberal.
