Personally he is against abortion and would not appoint anyone to the Supreme Court who was for it. As for his personal life, unfortunately we don't have the luxury today of fine tuning the nominee to every high ideal. We have to come together and nominate a person who can win. If Rudy becomes that person, I am all for it.

Whats worse, is haggling back and forth with a narrow viewed Christian outlook turning off the voters who will be voting in the general, and then losing again because everyone is down and negitive about the nominee.

Conservatives have done just that for so many years it would be funny if so much were not at stake this time. And, Democrats plan on it happening again. I just want to see a smart choice. One who can win the general election. One who can stand up to the media and keep their cool. Someone with sea-legs. I don't really care how they score on the check-off list.

But I understand what your saying Patriot, and as a party we have to come to grips with the fact that every thing, every person wants has to be configured with what will work this time. We must insist on our priorities. The main one for me is removing Obama and his awful team from office. Setting America back on a common sense course of action.

Rudy would be an acceptable candidate in my book because of his stances on national security and his free-market economic beliefs. He was amongst the greatest Mayors in NYC history, and he truly did turn the city around.

Well, there are some pros and cons I see with Rudy.

Cons:
In the past, Rudy has done some and said some controversial and at times, mean spirited things to people.

Everybody has a bad day. But he got the job done. I'll go with that over the nice person who fails.

Best thing about Rudy is he can stand up to the Media.

By the way, how bout Trump. He's getting high marks with his straight talk.

I see your point about Rudy, I believe he would be a good president. Trump is not telling the true story about much of anything, and being blunt does not mean being honest. I don't think Trump even knows what he is talking about sometimes.

No Rudi, Romney, or Huckabee!.  We need strong conservatives and hopefully quite a few to choose from.  Give me Bachmann, Palin, Barbour or Daniels and I would be a happy camper.
Stay Strong!
Stay Proud!
Stay Conservative!!

I don't agree. Trump is saying what I hear from 99% of the people I run into traveling around the country. He is confronting the BS political correctness that has frozen this nation into being unable to be effective with anything. He tells it like he sees is. And, the contribution he makes is that he opens up the dialog to things nobody would talk about if he didn't.

Trump is doing way better than I thought he would and I like it. I still don't know who I will vote for as I want to see who all of them would have on their teams. But its all good. The nonsense being done by team Obama is stunning. We are the laughing stock of the world since he took office:

China and Russia are intending to come up with a difference world currency. Cutting spending on BMD systems, which don't kill a single person, but do save lives if we are attacked. Force-feeding horrific amounts of debt down the peoples throat that don't do anything but make our currency worthless. Pandering to resentment in this nation. Taking private property away from individuals. Arrogance beyond any this country has ever seen.

And who doesn't like Trump, and why?

The only candidate that makes me nauseous is Romney. I will stay home if he is nominated. I voted for a sorry RINO the last time and will not vote for a sorrier one this time.

I hope Palin gets the nomination. It is about time we have a Repub candidate with business experience, a backbone and is an outsider.

And who doesn't like Trump, and why?

He likes to take too many unnecessary chances, seems to be good at filing bankruptcy, and has always been out for himself.
NAMBLA is a left-wing organization.

There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site

No matter who polls well now, that's all dwarfed by the factor represented by the price of gas in mid-2012.

Really nosing out Obama in a poll now is statistically insignificant vs. Obama nosing out another candidate.  There is just too much time and too many events before the election for it to mean anything.

Very true.  Election season hasn't kicked into high gear yet.

You have a lot of folks talking the  talk -- we'll see which ones get the most support and are actually viable.

The one thing I continually scratch my head over when I read comments like this, is that whoever the nomination is - they got there because they worked their ass off to get there.    Your candidate didn't win = your candidate is a lightweight in the campaign department.   There is no conspiracy filled "they" who placed them in the nomination.   Hard work and perseverance got them there.

Whoever wins the nomination gets my vote, as staying home equates to voting for the communist.

I despise Romney as well, for reasons which I've talked about elsewhere, but I have to agree with FL -- if he wins the nomination, I'll have to hold my nose and pull that lever.

The alternative means a vote for Lord Barry and above all else, that man must be shown his walking papers.

I don't want Huckabee or any of the others they have polled. I like Sarah but don't want her to run.   I want Chistie, how come they haven't polled her?

Come to think of it...I kinda want Christie too.

I will vote for any other candidate except Romney. I could care less how he got the nomination. He is a smooth talking LIBERAL. I will not vote for a liberal even if he has a "R" by his name. So all your blah blah about your candidate did not win= him being a lightweight is pure bullshit.

Since I am a senior, my number 1 issue is health care. Romney is the father of Obamacare. Rationing of health care scares the living shit out of me. Obamacare cuts 500 billion out of Medicare. 15% cuts to Doctors and Hospitals is also in the bill. The is the same type of crap that was in Romney care.

I have spent many days  and nights in the emergency room and in the hospital before my parents passed away. I know how Medicare works now. The hospital tried to send my parents home too early. On one occasion, I threatened to sue them if my mother died due to their negligence. My dad was shipped out of the hospital too soon also. Obamacare will be even worse.

This explains my reason for never, ever voting for Romney. He is a liberal thru and thru. Maybe he is better than the commie in office. However, this country needs drastic changes not someone that will trim around the edges. Romney would be a disaster in my opinion.

Yeah the masses aren't as intelligent as you, are they?    ::)   Romney wins?  he pounded the pavement longer and harder getting his message out.    Your candidate lost because he/she didn't work as hard.   See how that works?   No you don't see do you?

You don't understand what Romney proposed in health care reform in MA, and how that was completely destroyed by the liberal legislature and susbsequent leftist Governor.   I am not debating that, as I care little what your opinion is on Romney (compliments of it being spoon fed to you by the insane massresistance loons).   His idea had a great deal of merit, with the potential of saving billions.   Unfortunately, the liberl state of MA was not the place for that theory to meet practice, so hard lesson learned.   I really don't  think Romney is securing the nomination anyway.  His time has passed in that regard.

That all said -- your premise is that you will vote for Obama, as that will be better than winning the White House in 2012 by pulling the lever for Romney.

Completely understood.

Don't get your bowels in an uproar; your brains are liable to explode. I won't vote for Obama cause he is a liberal who has flip flopped on Romneycare, abortion, gay rights, immigration and the environment. He is a Rockefeller blue blood RINO which is almost as bad as the commie in office. Many Conservatives including myself will stay home if he gets the nomination. Plus, I do not need some lame brain Yankee ass kisser for Romney telling me how to vote. I have been voting in elections probably before you were alive. Do you understand.

I never told you how to vote.  I am simply pointing out your support for Obama in staying home --  you "real conservatives" are really nothing of the sort, and are the true 'RINOs" of the party.

Yankee ass kisser?   Oh how funny.   I deal with facts.  You deal with emotions, or whatever is fed to you on whatever boards you frequent.

Romney was my governor.   I know who the guy is.

Good for you and all the liberals and RINO's in MA. Keep your sorry ass politicians up there. I deal with facts also. Romney is a liberal. He is no conservative. Trying to manufacture a new political stance is not going to work.

I figured a RINO like you was in Romney's back pocket. I notice you do not address his flip flops on abortion, gay rights, immigration and the environment. You can not polish a turd. Weak kneeded Republicans will vote for him cause he has an R by his name. They will chose the lesser of 2 bad candidates. I will stay home if he is nominated and so will many in the Tea Party movement that your BOY does not particularly care for. It is that plain and simple.
