No kiddin'!!!!!!!!

Is there a Hispanic history month? How 'bout an American Indian history month? How 'bout a Irish, Polish, Italian, Greek, etc, etc, etc?

You DemonRats made them victims in order to garner votes. Hence "Black History Month"! I dare ya to step into South Central LA, or Watts, and tell 'em they're all victims if you're Caucasian!!!!!

Hispanic Heritage Month: September-ish

Native American Heritage Month: November

Asian Pacific Heritage Month: May

Italian Heritage Month: Not official, trying to get it recognized for October

Polish Heritage Month: August

Irish Heritage Month: March

Notice, however, that the last three are not 'officially' recognized by the government.

Mr. Freeman.....................BRAVO.
“The national budget must be balanced. The public debt must be reduced; the arrogance of the authorities must be moderated and controlled. Payments to foreign governments must be reduced, if the nation doesn't want to go bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.”

All news to me! Wonder why that is? Could it be because the left have portrayed Blacks as victims for 50 years and shoved it down our throats?

Naw, that can't be it. All those gangstas runnin' around "taggin" their neighborhoods and makin' 'em complete eyesores, wavin' guns around, sellin' crack to their own people, and killin' each other off, are just disgruntled poor folk. If we could just give 'em more money, it will all go away and we will feel better about ourselves.

This is a nightmare completely designed and carried out by the left. Until the inner city begins to help themselves, it will continue! Hope the lefties are proud of themselves!

They don't want to, it's that simple. They assume everything they want ought to be handed to them. From what I saw in my classroom, very few of the kids wanted anything to do with hard work. It was easier to sit back and collect welfare.

It's pretty damned condescending to pander to their pet ethnic group one month out of the year and then forget they exist until they have an election.

While all of that is true the fact remains they were slaves.

They were forced, under arms, into a life they did not choose and would not accept if left to their own devises.

The founders revolted against the crown for less than that and today we're practically up in arms over less.

Imagine being told by your employer you had to work 40 to 50 hours for free but after that anything you earned you could keep for yourself OR give to him for the right to finally start being your own man even though you were a few  thousand miles from your original home.Slavery is still slavery.

OTOH: I'm actually, even in modern times, OK with voluntary indentured servitude and I think any form public assistance should include mandatory labor. Those who are habitually unable to support themselves should be sold to whoever will pay for their support in return for their work.

But this implies a "voluntary" state of affairs. The institution the abolitionists railed against was anything but voluntary and no person here would or should accept the terms it imposed on its victims.

What I highlighted describes the state of affairs for 90% of all European Americans' ancestors.  My own Mom's people, the Hungarians, were victims of the fedual system of serfdom until 1848.  Does that make me a victim?  Puleeze.  In this country, people HAVE been discriminated against because they had brown or black skin, and now many of their descendants feel free to return the favor.  How do two wrongs make a right?  All black Americans who rail against past injustices to their ancestors do is set up my back and many others as well.  Any dipshit reading this from the liberal viewpoint will call me a racist.  Fine. Whatever.  I feel sorry for people who live in a state of denial.  You are entitled to your opinions, but not your facts, DUmmies, and plenty have been presented by other posters here.  Google serfdom and get back to me.  Or, rather, please don't bother.  I'm sure you will find a way to justify feeling a special status as a victim, although people have lived in slavery since mankind has existed, and always will in some places, unless maybe you go spend some of your ****ing liberal outrage on the abuses of people in other parts of the world.  Take the beam out of your own eye, and use it to hit yourself upside the head.  Maybe then  you can stimulate those two brain cells you carry around into forming a logical thought.

For the most part, liberals in the USA railing against racism and sexism and homophobia are like children who feel free to cuss out their parents because they feel safe.  Go spew the same rant in damn near any non European country in the world and you're likely to end up dead, or a slave in truth.

Slavery is still slavery.

I'm not excusing slavery.  While it was an accepted practice when it was done it was still horrible.  What I take exception to is the black community (those I saw in college) refusing to accept that slaves were paid and were allowed to work for others for pay.  In essence a lot of it was like an apprenticeship program.  Not one most people would choose by any stretch but that is basically how it worked out.  The slave learned a trade, was paid (poorly) for their work and eventually bought their freedom.  Some of those went on to become ship captains or business men on their own.  Why deny that?

FWIW most of the slaves were actually paid by their owner for all their time of work.  It wasn't much but they were also provided room and board.

Again, I am not saying slavery was great but it was accepted in the time.  What I'm getting at, for any who want to pick at this nit, is why would the black community (or any community) deny the history that is there?  Do they want it to actually sound worse than it was??  Jeezus.  It was bad enough as it happened.
