Both are equally amusing and we should do everything we can to push them towards a cliff from which they can leap.

Primitives on the island are slathering beasts that simply row the oars,Elmers are the two faced task masters that promise goodies but in the end will hide behind the idiots to save their own hides.

Both deserve disdain, ridicule and mockery however the DUmpster should be be maintained for the primitives and perhaps a seperate place unseen by regular eyes should be cordoned off for the Elmers as that is what they seem to find fitting at their own patch of lunacy.

Just a thought.

Are Elmers banned from DU by any chance?

Gets my vote!

Yeah, one hardly knows what to make of such wretched people.

franksolich with his Pollyanna attitude, however is always compelled to try.

During the Scamdal nearly six years ago, while wandering around Skins's island I saw Fat Che, who at the time looked likely; he looked like someone who might be useful.

Actually, he looked like a big fat dirty humanoid pig, but still, he looked as if he might be useful.

When I proposed Fat Che for membership, everyone else in Scamdy was appalled, or at least thought I had lost my mind.  They all, especially those members of democraticunderground, knew much more about Fat Che than I did, but I still thought he looked as if he might be useful.

And as for his character flaws, there were people in Scamdy who could make him behave.

I got to invite Fat Che, but Fat Che ignored me, thinking I was just a dumbass right-winger.

Ego overriding intellect, or reason, again.

If Fat Che had thought more than a half of an inch ahead, he would be king of Skins's island by now, instead of, as he currently is, an administrator on an obscure message board for some left-wing radio celebrity.

We could use Fat Che, and Fat Che would get a great deal in exchange.

Fat Che, long ago mausoleumed by my fellow alum Skins, was notorious for blackmailing, or trying to blackmail, other primitives; trying to extort money or sex from them.

Fat Che had a "thing" about sticking his arm up inside women.  Some interpreted this to mean his "fisting" was homosexual, but it wasn't, it was women.

Scamdy was oftentimes coming up with material on primitives of no interest to Scamdy; good stuff, great stuff, but stuff for which we had no use.  Fat Che would've been in hog heaven with it.

Fat Che could've been king of Skins's island today if he had thought things out.

One supposes there's a lesson in this; if franksolich asks, it's probably a pretty good idea to at least look.

Bah humbug.

Yes, they are.

It's practically a requirement there on Pitcairn Island, to have been tossed off Skins's island.

I had to vote both for reasons stated above, and for one other reason.

Simply put, they came from the very island I look to time to time for amusement. I look to The Island 1000 times more than I look to Insaneville, however, when I visit the latter, I still find myself intrigued. Put it this way, it would be like wandering inside Manson, Bundy, or Dahmer's mind. Freakishly horrid, but intriguing, and dare I say, a bit interesting none the less. Roaming DUmmie Land is much more fun. Insaneville is merely a place to roam to once in a great while if I desire the kookiest of the kooky.

Some are.  Some are not.  Being banned from DU, however, is seen by many as a badge of honor.

Great thread, Frank.  Thanks.

Anyone who recognizes that Frank is an intellectual and valued member of CC, deserves their first H5! May you get many more!

Welcome to the loony bin! You'll find the DUmbster is just that!

I think it's against the interests of poor and working people to vote for the party of the rich.  Sadly, the Democrats are also the party of the rich, now, so it really doesn't matter how people vote.  But on the specific issue of the tea partiers, who are calling for less government spending, it makes no sense in a recession (or depression) to call for less government spending.  We need more government spending, not less.  Massive government spending got us out of the Great Depression.  Only massive government spending will get us out of this recession.  It makes no economic sense for any American to be calling for reduced government spending at this time, and that's my objection to the tea partiers.

After readin' this, since you are a Newbie, and I hadn't heard of you before, I find this post particularly disturbing!

Are you in fact stating, when we run out of money we should spend more? Logic is not your first selective trait, is it?

You're a lib, aren't ya?

WWII got us out of the depression, not goubermint spending! To insinuate anything else is downright dishonest!

I see perhaps I was a little to quick to H5 ya! Although, I will be the first to congratulate you on handing out praise to Coach, that said, just how old are you? Seems to me you must be very young to think you can spend your way out of a recession! It has never worked before, and I challenge you to furnish data where it has.

Ya can't spend money ya don't have! If you run out of household money do you take out credit and keep spending in order to improve your financial predicament? Of course not! The same goes for our government! Do you sincerely believe it is a good idea for China to own our debt? If you experienced the Carter years you would know this!

You voted for Obwana didn't you? How much of his stash did you acquire? Take a look, the only ones who did, backed him for office! Everyone else is suckin' hind tit!

I think perhaps the DUmp Underground suits your philosophy a little better. You will find we back our arguments up with facts. Government spending, especially when it has come to the point it has in the last 2 decades, is never the answer!

Hello, AllosaursRus,

Thanks for the high five, even if you now wish you could take it back.  :)

I remember you, even if you don't remember me.  This thread might refresh your memory:

Yes, I am a lib., and I don't hide that fact.  I read CC, but rarely post.  I don't want to tweak people's noses.  I am a member here, and the owners of this site kindly allow me to post, but I only post if I have something to say that I think might be of interest to this community (and that is rare, indeed).

While I don't deny that WWII got us out of the Great Depression, I would note that WWII meant massive government spending (on tanks, planes, bombs, guns, rations, uniforms, ships, etc.)  Our nation's debt to GDP ratio reached its historical height at that time.  We're not in as much debt now (as a ratio of GDP) as we were during WWII (though we're getting close).  I still think more government spending is required to combat this recession, though I'd rather build schools, trains, roads, and parks rather than ships, planes, and bombs.

I'm neither particularly happy nor upset that China owns so much of our debt.  I'm mainly just glad that we have someone who's willing to buy it.  We have a lot of debt to sell.

Yes, I did vote for Obama in 2008, but I will not be voting for him again.  Because you read DU, I know that you are aware that those of us on the left are quite upset with Obama.  I've written a rather long essay explaining why, and I would be honored if you would read it.

But I don't want to hijack this interesting thread, so I will keep this response short.

Okay, calm down.

Both allosaurs and laelth are considered members in good standing here, so no need to squabble, at least on this thread, during this season of the year.

I'm still thinking of a rule to propose (for the DUmpster) and it looks as if it's going to be a rule that everyone's always followed anyway, but was never written down, and probably it would be a good idea to have it black ink on white paper.

I voted neither. Both are and have become so disgusting that even at this time of year I wish nothing but ill will on them.
