Comparing Mel Brooks movies is like comparing sunsets.
Let nothing trouble you,
Let nothing frighten you.
All things are passing;
God never changes.
Patience attains all that it strives for.
He who has God lacks nothing:
God alone suffices.

Dang, but I love Mel Brooks.  I will be watching "History of the World" this weekend.  Thanks for the reminder!

It's good to be the king!  :rotf:

Me and some guys I work with were watching that down at our local bar the other day and were cracking up. The bartender, about 22, looked at us like we were lunatics.

This is and always will be my favorite.

That was the most hilarious scene I think I have ever seen in any movie.

Madeline Kahn is one of my most favorite female actresses ever! She is pure comedic genius!
Her acting in Blazing Saddles AND Young Frankenstein was historic!

Of course there is High Anxiety "hanging" out there too...

Then there is Cloris Leachman...Nurse Diesel...fruit cup et al...

Young Frankenstein takes the cake!

Definitely!

A little history - I watched a program covering Gene Wilder's career a few years ago. Young Frankenstein was 100% his baby. He wrote it and directed it with Mel Brooks producing. Seems the two of them came to severe logger-heads several times during the shoot of the movie to the point of the entire movie almost being dropped.

Terri Garr - yeeeeeow!

Marty Feldman? Another genius!
"Ughhh Abby Someone...

Abby someone? Abby WHO?

Ugh.. Abby Normal

Abby Normal *chuckles*

Yes I'm almost SURE that's the name.

Are you saying... that I put an abnormal brain into a 7 1/2 foot long, 54 inch WIDE..... GORRILLLAAAAAA???????? IS THAT WHAT YOU ARE TELLING ME??"
