My dog and the Republicans have the same two-step concept of sharing and compromise:
   
Step 1: Give me some of what you have.
Step 2: Now give me the rest of it.

Your dog is a liberal dude. You have a juicy steak that theoretically you worked to buy and someone worked to cook it. Your dog lounged around all day long and now wants as much of that steak as you can possibly give him. He may even whine and cry a little to try to make you feel bad and give in and share your steak with him. Even if you gave him the whole thing ten seconds after he woofed it down he would be begging for more. Yes my friends dogs are liberal democrats. But at least we can enjoy the company of our dogs so they do have a purpose.

You also forget the other rule of the liberal. If you turn your back on what's left of your steak the dog will steal it.

Our dog is well behaved enough not to steal food. But I bet if I left the table long enough I'd have a happy dog and an empty plate.  :-)
