Did anyone else notice Edward Kennedy Jr. say that he has lived in Mass for the past year to be
close to his father? that he purchased JFK's old house? He has established residency in Mass and
I think he'd win an election there. Am I crazy to think that we have a shot at that?

I can never keep my Kennedys straight. Now, this Edward Jr., is he the heroin addict? Or the one who
bought the annulment the pope overturned? Or is he the one who was screwing the babysitter? Or is
he the one who raped that girl on the beach? I'm pretty sure he's not the one drowned that girl, I think
that one's dead now, along with the one who ordered Marilyn Monroe's murder, and the one who
shared a whore with Sam Giancana. Anyway, these Kennedys are just so confusing.

2. I don't think he wants to run. Yet.
He has stated that he wants his children to be older before he considers all that is involved
in serving in higher public office.

Ah, he should, of all people, know what he is getting himself and his family into. Maybe he might
run at some point in the future, but I think he wants to spend time with his 11 and 15 year old
kids now, while they are still at home.

I deeply respect that choice.

7. I deeply respect him, too, for putting his family first. Politics can be
brutal, especially with his name.

I hope he takes his time.

There sure is a lot of deep respect oozing out of the DUmp this evening. It's funny, because when
I hear about a Kennedy, deep respect is the farthest thing from my mind.

3. I heard what Sebastian Doyle heard, much to my dismay.

9. Has Barney Frank said anything about running?

No, Barney is more interested in getting ACORN to help him with that male prostitution project.

Do the primitives know that he's a big player on Wall Street with his own investment firm and everything?  No doubt to the dimwits in DUmmieworld he's automatically not involved in any of the underhanded backroom deals that take place because of who he is.

Gullible, thy name is primitives.

.
Because third world peasant labor is a good thing.

Why are they worried about a replacement for Teddy?
Democrats have always been able to count on votes from the dead.

Well, well.

My, my.

Republicans in the Massachusetts Senate, although only minuscule, have blocked consideration of a new law proposed for vacancies.

By simply following the rules, the measure's been blocked.

There's going to be that special election before Patrick has a chance to name a temporary senator.

Alas! for the primitives! alas!

Ya know, you're right! Not much of a stretch to think they can have votes for the dead!
I'm the guy your mother warned you about!

Curt Shilling for US Senate!!!!!!!!!

That would be a blast.

Now, for a Republican to win would be possible, it would also be pretty close to impossible.  Possible, but not likely.

However, if that were to happen, I'm sure some heads--not ours--would explode.

All things have unanticipated consequences.  A blade cuts both ways.

The Democrats, liberals, and primitives in Massachusetts should've have left things as they were, for their own good, the governor appointing someone to a vacant Senate seat; this way, Patrick could've already appointed a Democrat to serve until the national off-year elections of 2010, a done deal, cut and dried.

As it is now, Republicans have a narrow opening--it's not likely to happen, but it could happen--to slip one of our own in, who would win the election of 2010.

This is what happens when someone messes with the rules, trying to change them so as to gain a certain advantage.  The unanticipated happens.

This is the difference between Republicans and Democrats--Republicans accept the rules as they are, and work with them.  Democrats tinker with the rules, hoping to gain some advantage from fine-tuning them.  It works sometimes, but it doesn't always work.  It works just about as well as simply sticking with the original rules works.
