THC, welcome!

I started to read Hillbuzz in the last week before the election.  I was hoping that you'd be able to pull it off . . . but since then, I'm glad that the wheat has been seperated from the chaff.

Thank you for the warm welcome.  I am glad to find so many reasonable people here.  I checked out a couple of the other conservative/republican forums, and they were pretty rabidly...  well, rude.  I really appreciate it.

We did our best...  we estimate that there were about 3 million of us that voted for McCain....  we lost about half our members to the power of the koolaid.   :banghead:

Hillbuzz is a great blog, though I am not sure what they are doing now.

I have my own blog at http://texashillblog.blogspot.com (I am currently in the process of transferring all my files over there anyway), but I also write for http://noquarterusa.net

I appreciate the visits miskie!  thanks so much for coming and reading my stuff.  i really appreciate it a lot.  please keep coming and drop some comments.

And Carlos, no, I was not a DUmmie...  that is why I ended up getting TS'd.

We're really not rude at all - as for sarcastic -- well, that's a different story  :uhsure: - The short version is most of the first posters here came from ConservativeUnderground (the site that shall not be named at DU) and during the run-up to the Republican primaries CU became overrun with Ronulans. - and it started to become very, very rude. This site was born, and those of us who couldn't take Ron Paul and things like Israel bashing 24/7 moved here. As was mentioned on another site as gossip of the split occurred, we were collectively described as 'Reagan Republicans', which is probably pretty close to the truth. That set of core beliefs and ideology has set the tone at CC.

I may drop a comment or two in the future, During the election I spent almost no time posting anywhere but here, I  was reading everything else by everyone else, including other conservative sources, PUMA sites, as well as the DUmmies and KOS kiddies. No time to post at all  :-) Anyway, welcome, enjoy, post etc

Hi,

I am new here...  once upon a time, I was a DU member.

I am ashamed.   :thatsright:

Anyway, love what I see so far...  so I guess I am saying hi!

Hello THC from another Texas Hill Country person and relative newbie.  I love it here.   I'm in Round Rock although it's all sort of melding together into the metropolis of Austin.
