I have donated in the past but I made sure before I parted with my money that the need was real. (Think Andy Stephenson)
J_J_ (926 posts) 250. colloidal silver might help stop the infectionIt might cost $10 or so at a health food store, but you can try this as a temporary solution. I'm sorry about the lack of empathy for you situation. Even if DUers were to think you are a scammer- for a total of $2,000! in over a year- you are one sorry scammer. I'd think if you were a pro as some suggest, you would probably find a scam that pays better. This current post has raised $105 To the mean DUers: I would think that having a heart and making sure your compassion stays intact is more important than the $10 you may have been scammed out of. I often think of bobbolink who clearly needed help, perhaps had mental problems and communication issues...aren't those the people that need us the most? People were so mean to her, they drove her from the site. She was homeless, yet working hard to raise awareness and help other homeless people. Now we have lost a great activist from the site.
Hekate (34,921 posts) 260. You often think of bobbolink?! Jeez, so do I. She's another one who caused great division at DU...Do you know someone from DU actually gave her a laptop computer to help her out? Or tried to. I didn't bookmark that thread, though I am sure someone here could find it. It just did not end well. Her "activism" consisted of viciously attacking anyone who disagreed with her on any point, even if they agreed with her in principal. People are not "mean" when they invoke the adage (which my mother should have taught me for my own self-protection): Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. It's like with all other forms of abuse: The first order of business is to stop the abuse; only then can you go on to attempt to understand the poor widdle psyche of the abuser. Torch The Witch is a grifter -- she's abusing this community. I don't care what her underlying mental problems are at this point. She has made it abundantly clear long since that she will ignore every attempt to help that does not involve cash in her hand.
Ok can anyone think of a good dentist in the Phili area?PCIntern?
PCIntern (16,132 posts) 270. If you live near Philly I'll do it for free...PM me.

He actually wiggled it back and forth for a whole week until he was able to pull It with his fingers. There was a bar near me where the bartender would pull your tooth for free, he had a whole jar of teeth on the bar that he had pulled.

Are you eligible for medicaid? The swelling could be that your tooth is becoming abscessed. Maybe you can lance it yourself and drain the puss. I feel for you. That's some of the worst pain.

obamanut2012 (10,718 posts) Mon May 2, 2016, 07:41 PM276. of course Dentists and oral surgeons can be sued for malpractice.
Hekate (34,946 posts) Mon May 2, 2016, 07:51 PM277. Upthread there's a link to a post by TTW claiming she has dentures and no more dental pain.Dentures. Yeah, I know. DU's records are a funny thing, if you know how to search them. They are an excellent aid to memory. After the donnybrook last August I bookmarked a couple of TTW threads for future reference, but I never saw the one about her dentures. This time I am bookmarking this thread as well. She comes back every so often with a new story; all she wants is cash, not any other kind of assistance or advice, and she has proven to be dangerous to those who get involved in person. (I call an untrained Akita who threatens cats and humans dangerous, and a woman who files a police report on someone trying to help her likewise dangerous.) My bet is she won't show up at PCIntern's office any time soon, and the story will be that her car broke down (send money) or her dog needs kibble (send money) or she can't use public transportation because of (reasons, but send money).
AngryOldDem (10,370 posts) Mon May 2, 2016, 08:13 PM280. Yep. That's why PC should be careful...very careful. No good deed, yadda yadda. But somehow I think this is all about the money. Call it a hunch.
msanthrope (33,726 posts) Mon May 2, 2016, 08:09 PM279. I'm not saying don't do it. But you might want to speak to me....and my ex..... before you do. We have professional licenses, too.
panader0 (14,018 posts) Mon May 2, 2016, 08:48 PM286. Very generous offer PC, but don't do it. TTW will slap a lawsuit on you for whatever reason.
ProudToBeBlueInRhody (14,892 posts) Mon May 2, 2016, 09:28 PM291. Agreed It would go nowhere, but she will try. She wants money, period.
How clear does she have to be?She doesn't want a tooth pulled. She wants the money.Idiot.
Or some pain pills.....
Last week they had a job for me (another low pay idiot job, but so what)
Last week they had a job for me (another low pay idiot job, but so what) but they wouldn't give it to me because of this tooth. They won't give me ANY work until it comes out and I can give them a doctor's note that all is well.
Torch's profession places a premium on oral health.
30Draw (36 posts) 42. I can't figure out this online donation business .. Do I need some sort of account ??
ChisolmTrailDem (8,477 posts) 43. Yes, if you're a scammer or someone who actually needs help, you'll need a way......to collect people's gullibility or their generosity. Most people use gofundme.com and most people are honest when they put their name on such an account. But some are not and take advantage of people.
30Draw (36 posts) 44. It's just so heartbreaking reading about a fellow DUer suffering
