Erich Bloodaxe BSN (1,478 posts) Tue Jun 17, 2014, 03:25 PMQuestion about the use of 'ignore'.If I put someone on the ignore list, are they still capable of commenting on my posts? Cause it seems to me if that's the case, that they can troll the heck out of me, and it'll look like I have no good reply to them. So will ignore stop them from commenting under my comments, or am I better off simply not using ignore?
cyberswede (16,279 posts) Tue Jun 17, 2014, 03:44 PM1. They can comment on your posts, but you can't see the comments.Their comments can spawn entire subthreads, too - and you won't see any of it. And yes, they can troll you, but it's not much fun for them to troll someone who doesn't answer back. I recommend ignoring people with whom you don't wish to interact, and don't worry about them "trolling" you - they'll look stupid after a while, or give up.
I've never understood their obsession with the ignore button. It is simply easy enough to just not click on a link of those you don't want to read.
For a while, it was clear that nutcase nadin thought when she put someone on "ignore" they were deprived of seeing her posts. She would threaten using the dreaded "ignore" function, as if the offender was risking a terrible penalty.
